Honestly its getting a bit much with the ship sales. I wished they would put half the effort in fixing the game...

Not really. You could, if you had the data, take the average amount of dil spent on phoenix boxes to get an epic token, then run that through the dilex, to get a price on it.

Besides that, not really interested in this bundle, just like I haven't been for any of them. They are cheaper then trying to pull these ships from lockboxes/R&D packs, but still too pricey for me.

Well I guess the last one was a bust.

For anyone that thinks they don't know exactly how their game works though... this is the torpedo boat meta pack. lol Guess they aren't that out of touch after all are they.

No, it's the same, because they copied the text from the bundle that included the Jellyfish. ;)

I was just checking on that, and yup, torp-boat trait bundle. And I'll admit...I'm tempted.

Glad that I already have the torp boats I need. So I don't need any of these ships anymore. I think I still got like 20 ceaseless momentums or so....

I'm getting tired of the constant ship releases though. They think they can milk the christmas cow big time this year but don't really understand what's going on in the real world. I have no problem with them making money but boy those ship sales are like almost every week a new ship or two. But yet fixing certain things in the game seems with their budget and time not possible.

As am i. Some of those traits are benchmarks for torpedo builds.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. I don't know about all of the traits, but the S31's trait doesn't do much for a torpedo build, right?

And the Son'a ship's trait can be usable on a torpedo ship, but only that. Usable. Not very interesting, imo. Those rifts only work with High Yield and they move only slowly while their damage is far from impressive, in my experience.

That's the exception to the rule.
From memory subspatial warheads and ceaseless momentum are located on two of the other ships with torpedo barrage being the 3rd one.

With the discount it comes down to 100-150 euro for this pack. Not convinced that it is worth it, but for options on torpedo builds it is a tempting bundle.

The X-Upgrades had been given out like candy in the past.

The keys are only worth a few lobi unless you win something valuable & T5 ships & below aren't worth much nowadays.

The Phoenix token prize list of ships haven't been expanded in years I think.

Are these Gold Tech Upgrades the Ultimate Upgrades? If so I do see some value in those if not then no.

The ships are subjective value based upon how each of us wants to play our accounts. It's good that these are account-wide.

I already have 2 of these 4 ships & prefer not to buy something twice so I'll be passing but I do see the possible enticement for others.

These Mudd's must either be selling extremely well or not well at all since Cryptic is selling new Mudd's every other week now.

Can't milk what people don't have. Dil to zen transactions. I guess this is their evil plot to force more money to zen transactions... 8(...

They figured out if the dil/zen doesn't exist it's still claimed to be farmable even if it's not. And it pressures more people to spend money. I'm guessing they will never stop doing this as it's making them money. Every actions they have taken in this holiday season has made the proble worse except for some minor actions...

I really wanted to get this too. Guess I never will unless they release it later again.(If I'm lucky.)

And yea, this is the torpedo boat central. I have all torpedo boats. It's everything I could ever get in 3 ships. All but the S31..

If only I could get that dil turned into zen in time. 8\

I believe we are at 2 weeks to get an order in.

Didn't they just release a Mudd's bundle last month? These are only supposed to be coming out once every 3-4 months.

At least this is more valuable a bundle than the command one was...ADG will be happy with this, because he's primarily a torp-boat flyer.

Two mudd bundles with in weeks though... expected holiday sales.

Dil Ex is going to hit 4b backlogged likely with in a day or two. So much for Cryptics words about wanting to ease that situation. Clearly they would prefer it to hit a 6b/1 month backlog. Obvious what they want.

I do spend money on this game... but supplement with some Dil sales to other players. With the current state it might just be a good time to take a 5 or 6 month break.

Honestly, I'm not going to begrudge them doing this. No money = No content, nevermind fixing, and on that note, building a ship has nothing to do with their bug fixing. An 'environmental' artist won't be able to sort out bugged code.

I have to say (from reading multiple comments) that if people seriously expect to buy $150 bundles from dilithium farming in this game, then the economy is broken and not because of cryptic, but because dilithium farming has gotten out of hand.

I'm not begrudging f2p players, but c'mon, buying bundles? It's a bit different than the occasional $30 ship or things like the EC cap.

I somewhat agree, I find it a bit ridiculous for dilithium grinding for converting to zen free-to-play players to expect to completely play & buy lots of items using that method, but I also find it equally ridiculous for Cryptic to expect regular customers/players to spend $150 a month on STO too. I enjoyed STO lots more when the majority of buying options was from the C-Store & not gambling & Cryptic's 1% big-ticket items.

i don't like that they removed old bundles to introduce this one. what is so wrong with giving players choice?

like the bundle that offered the kelvin ships had no reason to go away. Using FOMO to manipulate consumers should be outlawed. if you can't sell your product based on its quality, merit or fair practices, then you don't deserve to make money.

If you're looking at this bundle to boost your torp boat.. buy with caution.

It's entirely possible that this will be a final cash grab before a round of nerfs to Torp Boats.

Can't say for sure, but it's not unheard of for Cryptic to sell as much of a powerful item as possible only to nerf it once the sale is over. Buyer beware.

    True.

As for me, while i can see the appeal in this pack i also cannot see myself piloting any of these vessels.
To acquire a pack merely for traits on a ship is not within the possibilities of my current budget.

If this trait was available in a box instead of in mudd's place i would have gotten it ages ago:

To be honest, I'm just really tired of all this. It really feels like the only time there is any news regarding STO its about something new to buy (more often than not its another expensive bundle) or yet another daisy-chained event that expect us to replay recycled content with a new FOMO unlock.

It just feels like the people calling the shots are only interested in me paying rather than playing, and I find it truly tiresome.

    I can't disagree with this.

I don't mind them releasing new packs - although the prices are ludicrous. But it shouldn't be the only thing besides yet another daily-log-in-event that's announced. They can add all the expensive packs they want, but expanding and maintaining the game should be more than expanding and maintaining the in-game store.

If they cannot produce more or more diverse content or do so more often, they need to invest more resources and hire more Devs.

    Just to be clear:

'They' being the upper management of PWE or whoever decides on those things. I'm in no way holding responsible the current Devs themselves who are probably just as disappointed that many of their colleagues were laid off because of a failed experiment with another game.

Or CBS needs to do something - but of course we know that they're all too happy to just sit on the IP and wait for opportunities to come to them instead of seeking them out themselves.

I've stated this opinion before but, to me, it feels like STO is in a strange place - one where it is just successful enough to float above life support but where neither parent companies (Paramount/CBS and PWE) are motivated to invest anything more than is absolutely necessary into it, hence their only avenue for making money is churning out expensive bundles and prizebox content and running back-to-back FOMO fueled events to keep log-in metrics reasonably high. Even just having a player log on for 15 minutes to play a quick event TFO before logging out pads their metrics with "consistent" player numbers.
I can't really say I agree with this.

A game that is just floating above life support, and that isn't getting enough money to do anything but what is absolutely necessary, wouldn't be getting the money to do things like the Year of Klingon revamps, or the TOS arc revamp, or the current Fed interior/ship revamp. None of those were really necessary. The game has gone without updates to those things for years, with no real issue, yet they chose to invest a lot of money into doing it. The same thing with VAs. If they weren't getting money they wouldn't be getting Leeta, Martok, Gowron, L'rell, and would be falling back more on the tier 2 VAs like Shon, or Koren, or justu sing BOFFs for a lot of the dialogue since those don't require VAs.

An MMO needs both paying customers and lots of players even if they remain F2P. Swinging it either way too much will only cut it short.

About the bundle, I've always liked the Sheshar's looks and stats (minus that fixed engi cmd), and was surprised by how nice the S31 Sci destroyer looks even when transformed but not its trait since being cloaked while still firing everything with very little downtime to me isn't exciting gameplay despite how much I enjoy cloaks. Not getting it however, I have no need for those 2 account-wide.
