Some are too cheesy, such as Sulu and Data's comments. I would rather they be recorded for the game than clips.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
It sounds cool as a concept, but do you have any idea how repetitive these things will quickly become? You would have sulo saying "Target that explosion and fire" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
See how annoying that last sentence was? Imagine listening to something like that for the duration of a big battle...
So yeah... It's just you, I think...
However, Cryptic loves adding to the amount of visual effects spam... Why not go ahead and start adding audio spam as well, right?
I'm a bad judge. Since I never think there's anything worth hearing and I always skip the dialogue anyway, I just keep things muted.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
I think the main reason I mute is because of the waves, waves, waves, waves, waves...they give me a headache. And the screen filled with nothing but enemy weapons fire almost gives me a seizure.
It might just be me, but I would absolutely love for key lines from films and series to play when you're in certain ships and situations.
...
I mean, since there is a profanity filter in the chat, even being able to have Brent say, "Oh, Tribble" would be fun ;-)
Bridge Officers used to have voices for when they were using abilities. That was waaaaay back, like right around Beta.

Too bad most programmers fail to make proper use of those commands.

And since there are various abilities that put and then drop you out of combat, you can re-enact the chorus of the Picard Song.
And when you're warping out, "Warp One, Engage!"
