    An evil kitty pet? Dawwww!

Time to dress up and do some grinding.

I'm probably going to pass on this one. Ground TFO, if I'm not mistaken, with an uninteresting reward. However, I'm not honestly complaining--I've been running events pretty much non-stop all year; this is a wonderful time to take a break for a bit. Kudos to Cryptic for being boring for once?

I love this idea! Halloween is my favorite holiday. Looking forward to playing the new event.

I prefer a choice between ground and space for multiplayer events. And a scary mission is better as a solo experience imo as a group will just rush through it.

Devidians are back?! Maybe it means we can get the Spectres arc back. It always bothers me though that STO uses the British spelling “spectre” rather than the American “specter.” Maybe it is supposed to call to mind the Shatner novel “Spectre,” or the TOS “Spectre of a Gun.”

Or perhaps they just prefer too use English. :)

Well, I hope we at least get to defeat some Devidians and make progress on the kills accolade. Replaying a few episodes from an old episode arc gets tedious.

And maybe next year we can get a Holographic Gein boff? Bonnie-kin, bonnie-kin...

I want the dil at the end so i am forced to continue to grind without any breaks in sight till further notice.
At this point grind it is too. :(

You could spend $1 of real world cash monies and get 50,000 refined dil on the dil exchange if you need dil that badly. Skip 6 days of grind, or spend $2 and skip 12 days, $5 for 250,000 refined and skip 31 days.

Yes, but that would signify that you are supporting the game financially, which is largely frowned upon around here and would undoubtedly label you - the culprit - as a "whale."

STO runs on good intentions, not cash; don't you know.

When money grows on trees the onlline games can have as much as they think they deserve,
    till then FORGET ABOUT IT!

Grind away then. Cryptic allows the pure F2P playstyle to get you anything in the game except (on PC) the lifetime subscription.

Halloween is not an event. It's like Friday 13 and only celebrated in the US. Whoever thought if this one? Are we celebrating the Eastern Bunny next?

    HARD pass

I wasn't aware Canada, Mexico, Ireland, Spain and Latin America were all part of the US now.

    Nope. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween

"Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of "All Hallows' evening"),[5] also known as Allhalloween,[6] All Hallows' Eve,[7] or All Saints' Eve,[8] is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. ... The word Halloween or Hallowe'en dates to about 1745[32] and is of Christian origin."

But no one is forcing you to play any event. I've skipped many myself. Play when you like, play what you like.

Wikipedia is not a source...anyone can write there to prove anything and Halloween is NOT a Christian, muslim nor jewish holiday if you brought religion here. I will leave it at that since mods will go crazy with the innuendos here and respectfully will refrain from further offering free education :*

I'm not even well-versed in the history of it, and even I know that it's at least derived from a holiday rather older than the United States. (Oh, and "Eastern" Bunny??? I hope the "n" is a typo.)

And this is a heck of a weird thing to complain about anyway.

I am looking forward to the event.

It is something different from the usual, and better yet something from TOS (with a little TNG mixed in). And the prize is something that sounds quite useful to both a crowd control type character and a mystic type, especially the part-Megan character I made a while ago to use the more eerie of the Fek'Ihri kit modules and environmental damage Risa modules.

It is also a good time to knock the dust and petrified dinosaur dung off the old ghostbuster-gun from Spectres and give it a workout.

I have to disagree on that one. IMO the only good thing about "Catspaw" is the introduction of Pavel Chekov. Really cheesy episode, with some painfully bad VFX even by the standards of the time.

this event looks very interesting, but not sure i would do the 14 days, I'm already having trouble completing the current event; boredom, tired of doing the same thing over and over

In fact, Cinco de Mayo isn't really a holiday anywhere except the US, where we'll take just about any opportunity to devote a day to eating to excess and drinking specialty alcohol. It commemorates a minor, insignificant victory of interest primarily to historians and beer companies, and makes about as much sense as starting a PNW tradition of annual celebration of the end of the Pig War.

I would say start a celebration of the end of the Emu War...but Australia lost that one.

Btw the day the name "Halloween" refers is typically called "All Saints' Day" in English, Hallow being an older term for something holy (like a saint).

While Halloween isn't a big thing here in Finland, All Saints' Day is a thing here (typically celebrated on Saturday that lands between 31st Oct and 6th Nov (this year it being 6th Nov), All Saints' Day being called "Pyhäinpäivä" in Finnish and it's been a thing for as long as I can remember.

EDIT:While I said Halloween isn't a big thing here it's still an unofficial holiday (so you won't get leave from work, but people tend to have themed parties), so it's not really a "just USA" thing since last I looked we aren't part of USA (I'm a Finn in case that wasn't already obvious).

The Spectres Arc was never removed from the game. It is still available to play under your Faction contact in the Incoming Hails tab in your journal.
