federation phaser cannons

shadow4fox3shadow4fox3 Member Posts: 42 Arc User
I can vaguely remember being able to buy phaser cannons, turrets and the like from the ship equipment vender in the past, but now I can't.
Am I missing something or is the only way to get phaser cannons, turrets, dual cannons and heavy dual cannons to craft them?

This also includes TOS cannons from the TOS ESD too....

Crafting would be better anyway, because the vendor only sells white quality...

True, but some cannons that I use to buy I was slowly and steadily upgrading to gold (when it was upgrade weekends...) especially the TOS cannons/turrets. and I've never had much luck with crafted cannons.

You can buy TOS phasers from Fleet Station K13, they aren't 'normally' available, bar the exchange, in any other place once you go to the future IIRC.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Do you know the trick of crafting them at Mark II *not* Mark XII?

You can craft Mark II at VR quality with 100% success once your R&D is around 15, and it only requires using cheap white mats.

You can craft a bunch until you get some with the PEN mod or Rapid if you prefer that. The other mods can always be re-engineered.

For TOS you need to buy them off the exchange or from the K-13 fleet holding. Another option is to get an Andorian ship to unlock those blue phasers instead (but without the TOS sounds).

If it's TOS blue phaser cannons and turrets you're looking for there's probably some options such as the K-13 fleet holding. If they were or are available on 23 century ESD it would involve an account bank transfer from your bridge on a new TOS toon but don't think this is possible anymore. I think your options might be limited if they have to be TOS and blue but could be missing something.

yeah I can sort of remembering buying a LOT of TOS cannons/turrets and transferring them over. When I found I couldn't do that anymore I'd progress through to the 25th century and dump all the cannons/turrets into the account bank and delete that character and make a new TOS character and repeat, until I had enough cannons, that are account bound.

Apparently Cryptic considers that an exploit to get around the fleet dil sink or something so they cut off TOS characters from the account bank, event tab, and other things to isolate them from getting any resources from other characters on the account.

It could of also been a factor in why they yanked the Spectres ark and relegated it to the endgame obscurity of the ironically-named "available" tab since it used to be positioned just right for getting blue TOS phasers as one of the reward options when you need them to keep your ship TOS-equipped.

Actually the event tab and account bank access being removed from TOS/Disco/Rom until a certain point was because of another exploit that allowed players to keep them factionless that was fixed.

Exploits are most often closed because they allowed excessive farming of dil, EC, etc. by creating and burning disposable characters, though Cryptic doesn't detail the exact exploits.

People would create an alt, claim all the rewards from their recruitment boxes, refine a day or two of dil, delete. Repeat x 1,000.

Back in 2012 I think the white ship weapons could be sold for a few credits, but then people started reclaiming the ships over and over.

Farmers and gold sellers are why we can't have nice things.
