I would also be interested, we'll probably have to wait for a stowiki. I don't understand the the devs don't write it in item info, this is like to buy a hare in a sack.
It says reduce all other bridge officer abilities to shared cooldown. Then it says non specialist bridge officer ability only proc it.
But the skill is listed as 2.5% chance on all abilities including my specialist abilities like concentrate firepower and intel abilities.
This thing is a mess and all over the place. It's needs a higher chance to work. Let alone a correct description.
Still doesn't say how much it reduces each proc. And it's hard to tell because of the extremely low chance. for something that cost me 124 million from an original 60 mil this is a huge ripoff. And a buggy mess.
If I'm understanding what this boimler effect is have they implemented this as a policy at their business?
I was hoping this would replace needing improved photonic officer. That would have allowed me to build my build the ideal way I wanted it.
So I guess now all other cool down things are obsolete.
Geez Cryptic if your going to obsolete things at least make it gear... so people will burn Dil upgrading the new thing.
We have yet to see how much it will do per proc yet. So it might get interesting.
"Provides a chance that using non-specialist Bridge Officer Abilities will recharge all other Bridge Officer Ability recharge times, up to their respective Shared Cooldown Categories."
It sets everything to global if this is to be believed. With a 17% chance to proc. I mean we have plenty of fast skills in the game like aux to sif. You only need one activation to proc and everything is global. This is the new must have trait cause it makes tech doffs borg doffs obsolete. The only thing this doesn't obsolete is Improved photonic officer as that also imparts a ton of Exotic bonus dmg for sci builds. Even then you could slot this trait anyway for PVP and the annoying NPCs that subnuke.
Really at this point why not just drop everything to global... and just remove all the silly cool down stuff from the game.
So I guess now all other cool down things are obsolete.
Geez Cryptic if your going to obsolete things at least make it gear... so people will burn Dil upgrading the new thing.
Well, not completely obsolete, but it all depends on your priorities. This will be expensive for a while as everyone loves cooldown reductions for the extra cheese.

It will always be expensive cause its also the first must have trait that costs lobi.
Cute of Cryptic... sell extra space trait slot.... add lobi personal space trait that would be one of the 3 or 4 best ship traits in the game if it was a ship trait.
This is one of the most blatant power creep to sell zen things I have seen them pull and they have pulled some pretty blatant cash grab stuff in the past. I'm not sure where they go from here.... a Lobi space trait that adds 100% bonus all dmg perhaps ? Or a lobi trait that adds 200% haste for 15s with the activation of a energy weapon buff ? OH I got it I know what will sell how about a lobi personal space trait causes the first NPC you fire on to switch sides... and for the next 10 enemies the NPC fires on to also switch sides.
I know its just a cool down.... and we have multiple ways to get to global already. This just rubs me the wrong way if its no clear. Whatever I have put 8 of them in my bank guess I can rethink a bunch of my builds I just freed up tons of doff spaces, skill slots and a few ship traits even. Thanks for the P2W power creep I guess.
Are we assuming this trait sets boff skills to their min cooldown whenever triggered, or is that just what everyone is assuming it does, when it actually just reduces their cooldowns by a moderate amount when it gets triggered (ie, a 'photonic officer' in trait form)? Because the tooltip is non-specific in that regard. And if it *does* do the whole 'set to min cooldown' thing, it would be the single most powerful trait in the entire game by at least a single exponent. Which is ****ing crazy.
That is exactly what it does tested and working as written. Sort of, it is broken cause right now its triggering on all boff skills not just non specialist.
It does not need a cooldown. If it had a cooldown it would be worthless. It need to have the chance to proc multiple times or it will not keep cd's down. It's justified because it's lobi and not normal. If it's changed beyond specialists it will not keep up cd's. In fact they should just keep it as is and remove the wording about non specialists.
It should remain expensive on the market. Other items are much cheaper. That makes them useful. Except maybe getting purple boffs for aux to bat. Which also can reduce skills every 10 seconds.
If it doesn't stay as is it will become worthless basically. If it's not as strong no one will be able to use it. That or fix the specialist and increase the chance to proc a little more. It needs it's current end functionality. This allows builds to exist that couldn't previously. And I don't mean OP builds. I'm doing lower damage control builds with unconventional system and console procing. Without it the stuff I'm making would be undoable because of the traits and stuff needed to pull it off with aux to bat or improved photonic officer. The main advantage of this is it makes new builds available.
In fact uconventional system builds combined with gcd of skills may be it's purpose. This allows some more complex combos of consoles powers to work together for some interesting build combos. Previously this was undoable and the builds were partial because you needed to spend too many resources on getting normal skill gcd down. This thing is a godsend for certain more fun build combos. You can make those builds, "complete," now.
Basically, this thing allows well roundedness in builds. I think it's vital to the games future builds. I really hope they do not nerf it. Or my builds will be sunk. It's a basic necessity for non min maxers wanting their builds to be just right. I hope this was on purpose and it stays that way.
Oh it was on purpose... that doesn't make it any better. This is just cryptic selling a cool down removal.
The only difference between this and Cryptic just deciding to reduce all skills in the games cool downs to their global as a base.
Is this involves making Cryptic some extra money burning some lobi. Expect some big promo ships to have lobi sales in about a month or so. Hate to be cynical... everyone expects MMOs to continually power creep to keep people paying, its just annoying when its such an obvious P2W drop.
looks to me Cryptic is pulling a "Neverwinter" maneuver on us with this,
a rather big step in the wrong direction. Reinventing the wheel that turns our Boff powers, a revolution and no evolution
lets hope that it will not have same outcome to, some wanted the new stuff...sales skyrocketed for few months yes,..
and then the server population dropped to less then 10%,... that game got Killed, is DEAD
as one would expect, it Always takes awhile to sink in but once it does is Pretty much Game Over... in a online game...
after u grinded for years and maby even droped some of your hard earned RL money to shorten the grind time and get that high-end weapon, the meta gear and then fully upgrade it all, hundred of hours and hundred of Euro/Dollars
and then over night is worth less then gear u get from completing the tutorial.... who still wants to stay around and grind for the new stuff ??
the list of ships, traits & consoles that lose some or all value trough this is extensive, i don't wanna list them all..
Maby i am wrong, i hope so.. having the need to spamm Zone chat in order to get a party together for a random is not something I'm looking forward to..

I'm already at spam zone chat to launch advanced versions of events and it still takes a lot of waiting. You're completely right, and I think the unhinged greed and power selling will annoy both new players seeing the massive grind and pay walls, and those who already paid and grinded a lot.
Lacking clear stats on what you're grinding/gambling/buying is in itself a major problem.
Not sure why you people are all up in arms. There is plenty of ways to reduce BO abilities to its global cooldown. Traits, BO abilities, Specialization ect... This is a personal space trait some people would rather have it reduce cool down other like to have more dps or more stability. It also has 17.5% chance to trigger I had occasions where it took a bit before it actually triggered. So don't think this is a 100% guarantee global cooldown reduction. You have better chances with an aux to bat build.
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
tyhe thing I'm finding amusing is the half dozen uses of "pay 2 win" maybe pay to win the DPS chase, but you certainly do not need any cooldown reduction or anything else to "Win" this game.when I can go into a Borg red alert and if the others bailed be secure in the knowledge I can take down the boss solo, yeah, that's power creep not pay to win.

Boimler is actually important for builds. It's the, "Unconventional systems," version of reduction. If you use the other types you can't get cd down enough to proc enough skills to get your console abilities down to gcd. I think people are missing the point of this ability and the parliament. It's also build around GCD and unconventional systems if I'm not mistaken. It also allows other things to be used for a more well rounded build if using the above sort of setup. That is why it has to be so extreme in it's application. And probably why it's lobi and expensive. Not that the others are cheap when maximized. It's just the entry level that is higher. The other are more expensive in the long run atm. Although they are probably attached to higher pure dps builds also on the high end.
I'm assuming another difference is this version is a more pure dps while the other are partially alpha strike on some level and relatively focused. Either way, the builds this opens up are a lot more fun and interesting from a standpoint of using them. It allows more things to do, albeit at a lower damage point per hit. But potentially longer fire time.
It's about the same atm. They went up to around 33 mil each if I'm not mistaken. So, it's about on par. Unless that was a different boff I was looking up. (which is possible.)

That is exactly what it does tested and working as written. Sort of, it is broken cause right now its triggering on all boff skills not just non specialist.
needs a internal cooldown of at least 30 sec or something and then needs to be cheaper, 200 loby is bit extreme.
renders all other cooldown traits/ ship traits / doffs obsolete.
what is now the worth of all the cooldown stuff we had already purchased over the years till now ?!
