Ship Texture Question

Good day all! I have two quick questions regarding some of the ship textures. 1st, what is the STO Cannon texture? Is it 7? 2nd, Will the #7 and #7a textures be made available to all of the federation starships if they are meant to be the standard texture of the 25th century (Hopefully the 7a texture because its so well done)? The new textures all look so great. I can't imagine how hard it is to do this work but it really does show off the talent!

    For Cryptic original 2409 designs it WAS 7, but now it's 7a (the original 7 is still available incase anyone preferred it though).

    All T6 ships have Type 7 available already, ships that haven't been remastered will get the Type 7a if/when they have a reason to mess with the model again (remaster, new variant, Legendary, etc).

    There really isn't a single "canon" material, there were a lot of different hull treatments in the shows, and the game adds a few more. It all depends on which ship you are customizing.

    There actually is, while Thomas was streaming his revamp of the Andromeda he mentioned that Type 7 had been their canon STO era material but because it is a bit dated he made the Type 7a material as a replacement for it. We can use whatever material we want, but in STOs canon all 2409 era ships use Type 7a.

    hopefully they'll update npc ships to reflect that.
