In Mirrors and Smoke, the first ground combat when you scan the barricade and get jumped by the locals never ends because the hit point tracks of the hostiles start empty so they cannot be defeated. Even when they drop medical generators and gain a few hit points, damage that takes them back down to zero is ignored.
You can see the damage you do when hitting them as usual, and the critical hits and whatnot, and even get accolades for causing different types of damage, but none of it stops them so the scenario never progresses beyond that point.
