I was one of those that did not lose a slot a few weeks ago, but lost at least 3 today, probably 4 or more. I had 3 open, now I have no spares, so not sure exactly how many. Not sure if that's helpful or not, but that's what it is.

I am just hoping that people who don't usually keep track of things like number of open character slots, started keeping track when this happened a few weeks ago to other people. Because I'm sure we'll all want to know we have (and keep!) the correct number after all this is finally sorted.
just thought i'd chime in here, bought a four pack for the last recruitment event, made 3 toons and had one slot left. But now the slot is gone. I know this will get fixed soon, thanks.

After 9 months of hoping for a fix on the bug that ate ship slot coupons (spoiler: it is still not fixed), my faith in a resolution is wearing a bit thin.
What gives me some hope here is that this problem seems to be a little more high-profile than the other and will, fingers crossed, stay in the spotlight long enough to make a difference.

When the Foundry was a thing, it had a separate Character creation system for access to it. Sounds like they might convert that to a normal character slot. Question is will that be given to all or just those who had a Foundry Character. It might only apply to those who were active before the Foundry was taken down, as anyone who joined after wouldn't have had that.

When I posted that, most players I correspond with in-game were starting to get theirs back (the ones lost this morning). I was asking what the "trick" was...
Anyway, 20 minutes in Neverwinter and back to STO and they appeared. Still missing the one from 3 weeks ago, but yeah...

The missing char slot after maintenance 6/16/21 is back. The missing slot after launch House United still not.
Yea the 6/16 patch enabled a tool for them to investigate who is missing what # of character slots, though the vast majority I think are missing just 1 from House United.
I still have 2 slots missing. I bought them from the C store post House divided. Still they were working up until post Delta Recruit. No fixes and I will not buy anything this gets resolved.

Ok, looks like the patch did recover the one missing character slot. Hopefully this worked for everyone and people who needed that slot for a new recruit have it back!

As I mentioned previously - I actively deleted my Foundry characters and did gain slots. So there are slots there... however the Foundry characters are no longer able to be actively deleted. So....
And yes, as of today I am back to (properly) having one slot free. (I've been saving it since last summer for a Temporal rerun; very briefly had two when we got one added for Klingon Recruit but then made a KR character. Have not made any other new characters since at least September.)

I think I got my foundry slot back. I had 1 free slot—before the slot-eating bug, 0 after, and I now have 2 after the patch.
