I was reading one of those Temporal Newspapers from the new Lockbox and it mentioned a Betazoid Shuttle, swooping in and saving the day.
We've NEVER seen anything from Betazed in the game, but that would be great. I remember in the novels that Lwaxana started a resistance movement during the Dominion occupation and that would make for a terrific game.
And since Discovery has reintroduced Trill (I still think there was SUCH a trick missed by the non-binary character not having Dax as their symbiote), but maybe something could happen there too.

While I agree that having Dax around would be awesome... I feel like that flirts a bit with the same issue Burnham's adoption by Spock's family had, and just get called out as "a bad attempt to make connections" or some stupid argument as if it is pure heresy.
Also they'd probably end up with a stumbling block of lining up Dax's history with anything they come up with closer to the 24th Century, like say if Ezri made an appearance in Lower Decks or Picard, which accidentally contradicts something that could have been said in Discovery.
No... I think having a new symbiote was probably the safest option. And who knows... maybe Tal knew Dax?
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

New...yeah, I suppose, but that symbiote must have been YOUNG to only have that few many hosts. There's never been an age limit set on one and this one obviously had a thing about Starfleet, so it's only a shame that hundreds didn't step forward and this symbiote being more important. If Dax was still alive, it would have had HUNDREDS of hosts, with all of their lifetimes' experience, which is what was always the most important thing to the Trill. That's why they had disassociation and why the life of the symbiote ALWAYS came before the life of the host.
I personally would have personally loved Dax, but otherwise...I would like to think that symbiotes just as old hadn't died in the burn and that all was left is a young one with a handful of lives.
Though it's possible that the "Betezoid shuttle" in question was a standard UFP model being used by the Betazoid government/administration. After all it shouldn't be that odd that member worlds of the UFP could have small craft and possibly even some starships for their own use.
Honestly I suspect those newspaper clips are made generic enough, that they could refer to many things and also that they're probably not direct reference to anything in game nor are they hints for (potential) future content.

They're generic. The only things that change are names listed. Could read one on your main, then read that same one on an alt. Only difference would be character and ship names being set as variable based on character reading them.

They're also all written as if the player character is FED. This is most obvious with the Earth Spacedock Finds Unusual Markings, Pudding Spreads Pathogen at Starbase 1 articles, and the No Trace of Bridge Officer? articles.

Of those really only the ESD one is something I could see being SF exclusive (due to using latin alphabet and Earth slang), as for the rest there's nothing preventing KDF ship making a pit stop at SB1 or studying vents at Nukara (those studies would be for a military purpose obviously but could happen) same for Romulan Republic Navy and to a degree the Dominion.

Obviously but I was referring to the fact that events in those articles are probably meant to be "weird stuff that happens to/on a starship in Trek" rather then anything specific.
So reference to a ship type that we've yet to see if most likely a generic reference that could mean many things rather then a hint of new content.
AKA that Betazoid shuttle could an old Type-D shuttle the pilot got from the free market and is using as their personal transport.

I wouldn't know because I've only ever read them on a Fed... so... *shrug*

Can find it under Faithful Lover Saves a Starship. Some of them seem quite interesting...
