Agents of Yesteryear/TNG legendary bundle ships?

shadowmane20001shadowmane20001 Member Posts: 70 Arc User
I have been toying around with this for a while on the fact they now only have the TOS series and TNG series for legendary bundles left to unleash. And was thinking, With the TNG it could be any of the ships we see in the TNG era, like the Nebula, Miranda, maybe even a Phase cloak galaxy class (This I doubt), or a legendary Constellation.

But what do you people think?

AS for the Agents of Yesteryear, We never really see any ships other than the Connies. And THAT gave me an idea, as I recalled in the TOS Episode "The Enterprise Incident" The enterprise crossed the Romulan Neutral Zone to obtain a Romulan cloaking device. And It gave me an idea for a Legendary INTEL CONNIE either with a built in cloaking device, or able to equip one. Now I doubt that they will release a new legendary version of the ship, But It was the first ship that crossed my mind. We have a Temporal Connie (promo ship), Miracle Worker (10th legendary bundle), so why not a stand alone t6 Intel Connie with Cloaking device?

If you disagree or believe there will not be one or both of these packs. Voice your opinion, and if you think there will be, what class of ship do you think they will put in?

I don't know about another legendary Connie and Galaxy because we already got them, and coming up with yet another variant...

I kinda feel like if we got a single ship legendary like the DSC Walker, Mirror Gal-X, Legend D7, and Legend T'Liss, we'd probably see Cryptic's take on a TOS Miranda, kinda like how they reverse engineered a DSC Excelsior. For a TNG based one... it could be argued we already got that with the Mirror Gal-X, but a Constellation might be viable, but could draw fire for the lack of an actual T6 Heavy Cruiser variant. Honestly though it would be more likely that a TNG based pack might lean more towards the standard 2409 Feds for the sake of adding a level skip token like they did with the Romulan and Klingon packs so we have some parity with them.

And I'm betting that we'll see a Legendary Bugship at some point because not only is it the iconic Dominion ship, there was at least one Federation one when Sisko captured a bugship.

    We have a legendary Galaxy.
We have a legendary Galaxy Dread.
    We have 3 legendary Connies.

I think it would be a stretch to call either the Nebula or the Miranda legendary.

Ship that do warrant legendary version:
    D'deridex,
    Scimitar,
    Jem-hadar attack ship,
    Jem-hadar dreadnaught.

But we do have the oddball of the Legendary Walker, and I believe the criteria for a Legendary also included spearheading a show. The Miranda technically counts due to it being the "villain" ship of WoK. It was very prominent. An argument for a Nebula can be made because I think there was an episode where Data commanded the USS Sutherland, which was a Nebula class. So realistically... Nebula, Miranda, and Constellation all meet the requirements in one form or another. The Constellation was showcased in two episodes, in the form of the USS Stargazer and USS Hathaway, both taking very prominent roles in their respective episodes.

Actually why shouldn't be there a Legendary Nebula, Akira, Miranda? I'm sure all of them are more Legendary then a Walker or even the Scimitar. I agree on the D'Deridex and the Jem'Hadar ships but lets be honest here. Legendary is the way out of T7 ships and they will make Legendary Ships not because they are Legendary but they make money. So expect a few more of them to come. I also have no problem with that because at the end every ship is Legnedary one way or the other.

I agree with the D'Deridex and Bugship, and wouldn't mind seeing the Negh'var.
Scimitar and Miranda would be good candidates as well.

The Akira doesn't fit however because there wasn't an episode or anything centered around one like there was with the Nebula (Again citing the Sutherland, and maybe even the Phoenix), Miranda (Reliant), and Constellation (Stargazer and Hathaway).

In fact... I think it would be more likely to see a Legendary Mogai than an Akira, as the IRW Valdore was prominent in Nemesis, but not as much as the Scimitar.

A Legendary Miranda makes sense for a "Legendary TOS Federation Captain" Bundle, and could include both a new T6 skin (besides the Z-Store Reliant) and slightly updated classic hull options (if they weren't already updated when the Reliant was released).

As far as a TNG-ish Pack goes, rather than calling it a TNG pack, I would probably also just include DS9 and Voyager with it and call it a 24th Century (2300s) Pack, if only to expand upon the options a bit. Treat it more like an Expansion Pack were some ships are available separately or in smaller bundles.

A second Legendary Galaxy is a bit of a stretch, but they could do a non-Legendary T6 Galaxy/Andromeda variant that is Intel-Spec, and has an integrated Phase-Cloak, somewhat like Intel ships. Could even make it a "Terran Andromeda" just to sell it with a Mirror Skin and vary it up a bit from the already-existing T6 Andromeda. After all, Cryptic already did this with the Sheshar, Bug Ships, Sovereigns (Intel, Command, then Miracle), and also with the Guardian (Mirror variant being Command-spec).

A Legendary Nebula is kind of pointless, only due to the fact there isn't another Sci-related Specialization to vary it up from, and the other Specializations besides Temporal, which the regular T6 Sutherland already has, really don't fit. Basically, it would bring nothing new. But if you insist, a Legendary Nebula could be Miracle Worker spec instead of Temporal.

On the other hand, a Legendary Rhode Island and non-Legendary Nova would make sense, with the Legendary Nova/Rhode Island as part of a "Legendary (2410s) Federation Captain Bundle" and the non-Legendary variant as part of the 24th Century Pack and available on its own.
    • The Legendary Rhode Island could be a rather novel Pilot-themed "Recon Science Vessel" having Pilot Maneuvers, owing to its diminutive size, and includes 1x Aux Phaser Double Heavy Beam Bank (in the front) and 2x Aux Phaser Heavy Beam Arrays (in the rear). The Aux Phaser Heavy weapons are basically Aux powered DBB and BA variants that fires more like a continuous Beam Overload; slower firing with higher energy use, but harder hitting, with Beam Overload making them into mini-lances. The Legendary variant can equip up to 2 Aux Phaser DHBBs and 3 Aux Phaser HBAs.
    • The Non-Legendary Nova could be a more typical Temporal-spec Science Vessel, with a T6 Skin and a T6 Fleet option.

One thing Cryptic could do is at least one Legendary Dominion and one Legendary Cardassian starship, since both are now playable and have similar variants in the Gamma Vanguard Pack. As well, both appeared during the Dominion Wars. Specifically:
    • A Legendary Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier, coming with both the T5 and T6 (Promo) hull variants, and a new hull somewhat similar to the JH Vanguard style, and spec'd for Command.
    • A Legendary Cardassian Keldon Cruiser, which includes both the Galor and Keldon Hulls, and also a new hull based somewhat on the Intel variants, but spec'd for Command or Miracle Worker instead.

While still on the subject of alien ships, maybe a Legendary Captured Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, which is based on the captured ship as mentioned by rattler2 and technically Fed-aligned. It would simply feature Pilot Maneuvering and Polaron Quad Cannons, similar to the Legendary Defiant.

I'd also like to go ahead and throw in a 25th Century (2400s) Pack, mainly made up of non-Legendary T6 versions of the DSSV, Patrol Escort, Escort, Star Cruiser, and Aquarius. In addition, would also feature 3 KDF/Rom/JHV reskins of the Patrol Escort. All with new 2410s style hulls.

A T6 Emissary-class Star Cruiser that is loosely based on the DS9: Dominion War game's Achilles-class. Specifically, it just features a Broadside Micro-Torpedo Console, which acts similarly to the Broadside Phaser Array, unleashing a continuous, 20s burst of micro-quantum torpedoes to anything unfriendly within the port/starboard 90-degree arcs. It also comes with a Starship Trait: Auto-Broadside Micro-Torpedoes, which is similar to the Pilot Escort's auto-firing micro-torpedo Starship Trait, but only auto-fires up to 5 single micro-torps on any 5 unfriendlies within 10km of the ship's sides every couple of seconds, starting with the nearest first (maximum of 25 micro-torps auto-firing every few seconds, limited to the broadside arcs).

A T6 Deep Space Science Vessel that has both a Temporal Spec seat and Miracle Worker Spec seat, for a bit of unorthodox Ability combinations. It would come with a starship trait that improves Tyken Rifts, extending their duration and granting a slight bit of pull, and a console that creates a larger Tyken's Rift that heavily drains subsystems and shielding, while also doing damage and having as much pull as a basic GW1.

A T6 Escort that features Intel seating but has Pilot Maneuvers. Includes a Starship Trait doubling the boost duration of Pilot Maneuvers (meaning longer forward/reverse thrust, and further port/starboard barrel rolls). It would also include an updated version of the Impulse Capacitance Cell console, which includes a basic passive boost to turn rate and engine power, but also now adds a short-lived 100% removal of movement debuffs and resistance to such except its own built-in penalty.

A T6 Patrol Escort and clones; all of which comes both in the 25th Century Pack and their own smaller Cross-Faction Patrol Pack. The T6 Patrol Escort and its Cross-faction clones all feature tailguns with the same Energy type as their respective faction (Phaser/Disruptor/Plasma/Polaron). The Tailguns themselves auto-upgrade to Mk XV when the player reaches Lvl.65 and the Patrol Escort is the active ship. The Starship Trait boosts the damage of Tailguns, Aft Cannons, and Aft-mounted Turrets. Unique to the Patrol ships, are a set of 3 VR Energy Rear Cannons, in their respective Factions' Energy type. They can be mounted only on the aft of any Raider/Raptor/Escort/Destroyer type ships. Lastly, the Nadion Saturation Bomb is upgraded; with a passive boost to all Energy Damage, and now features the ability to change its damage type to the base version of whatever Energy weapon is in the 1st Fore Weapon slot, although if it's a torpedo, it defaults to Faction type based on the ship its equipped to. Preferably able to be mounted on any Raider/Raptor/Escort/Destroyer and Sci Vessels, rather than just Patrol ships, allowing for a few "Fighter Bomber" style gameplay (SVs included due to scaling off Exotic Damage too).

A T6 Aquarius Raider, which simply adds Pilot Maneuvers onto the T5 Aquarius, and has a primary Intel Spec and a secondary Command Spec. The Cloak is now integrated, but still a basic Cloak. The Starship Trait upgrades all Cloaks to Battle Cloaks, and all Battle Cloaks to Enhanced Battle Cloaks. There is no Console. Instead, it gains the Wingman Ability similar to JHV Players, but feature two identical T6 Aquarius Raiders with standard Federation equipment instead.

In the end though, what we think does not matter because Cryptic and Cryptic alone decide which ships are "legendary".

I'm with you on the Nebula, but the Miranda was one of the most iconic villain ships in the franchise. IMO it's role in TWoK more than justifies it getting a Legendary at some point.

The Walker is an oddball, but it did spearhead Discovery in the first two episodes with the Shenzhou. I didn't include the Nova because I had only limited myself to TNG alone and not DS9 and Voyager. If we do add in the whole TNG era, then yes the Nova would qualify.
At least based on my interpretation of what was said for the qualifications for Legendary consideration. However like the Constellation, the Nova would draw a lot of flak due to a lack of a C-Store T6. Hell... probably MORE flak than the Constellation.

I have to admit I did not think of a t6 Star Cruiser as a legendary ship for TNG, but in the past I have thought of it and would like it, though I could see it with bridge layouts similar to the t6 Nerendra it would have to be Miracle Worker or intel. I do like the idea of the latter perhaps with a 5/3 weapon lay out.

I really think the Promethius would be deserving of a Legendary version, it was supposed to be one of the most advanced ships of the TNG era at the end of Voyager.

I'd say a L. Nebula is not a bad idea, If they actually give that ship some real flexibility.

The Nebula we have right now isn't particularly impressive as it is always a science ship with very little advantage over any other proper sci ship. The mission pod's flexibility just comes down to a uni seat.

I suggested something similar for the Nova, but they could release a 3 pack of Nebula with a cruiser, sci ship, and escort variant. They would all fly similarly, but a much bigger difference between the BOFF seating between them would do better justice to the Nebula and its reputed flexibility.
  • foxrockssocksfoxrockssocks Member Posts: 2,482 Arc User
stop with the packs already. stop with bundles. lets let ships sell on their own merits.

I entirely wish ships were packaged for individual sale all the time, but Cryptic is going to do what they do.

The variation type bundles should be cheaper for Cryptic to make than individual ships, while still offering enough difference to all have value to players to buy the whole thing if they want, and they have historically done those for individual sale, so at least that is the type of bundle I propose.

Miranda, with access to the Parliament skin would be great... and a Pilot Jem'Haddar ship, as there are no pilot ship for them. (crossfaction yes, but not one build by them)

My, my, such a legendary ship...

(however, since it's an escort with a seperation-gimmick, I'm certain the devs have her on the list for coming legendary ships regardless of her being actually deserving the "title" or not)
