grinding dil

What would be the fastest way to grind Dilithium ore.
Lets just say I have a limit I want to reach, lets say 1m,
how long would it take generally speaking and what methods would be the best to use.

Temporal Agents and Delta Recruits are the fastest way, however you have to be lucky enough to make one during the events.

Admiralty, Reputations and Random Adv TFO's are the best.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

    Admiralty.

    2-3 cycles/day grand 8k/day within 4-5 minutes of time invested/day.

I do that on 13 characters so I can get 100k every day for 1h of grind.

I have your 1 mil Dil after 10 days.

I reached the 10 million unrefined mark over 7 years ago. I found that turning rep marks in the fasted way.

An excellent, answer to the question.

Still may be a lot for (some) to cycle every toon 3x times, though doing Admiralty and DOFF stuff both helps... ...at least try to do once on every toon, or two times if you're able to, though 3x is amazing!

Realize some of the 90 Admiralty XP or those only slightly more often offer nice Ore Bonus from time to time. It's not always the higher Fed, KDF, Rom, or Ferengi XP that do, and sometimes those with lower Admiralty XP, give far higher Specialty XP. That will earn Speciality Perks for Command, Intel, Temporal, Miracle Worker sooner too! Once your Admiralty 10 however, the only thing that matters is Specialty XP shown in Light Green that looks like an Arrow Head.

Realize many find Dyson Ground Battlezone beneficial, especially if you've unlocked the two daily missions, and the two hourly ones. They each can offer between 640 - 1400 Ore each, and if you go to a more populated instance, often most people can finish within 10-20 minutes depending how advanced it was when you started. Always try getting into the most populated instance as that will progress faster. The final T-Rex Dino's in each of the 3 regions each offers a nice Ore Bonus too, and if you can make it to a 2nd Dino (Rarely) even better, just try to get to transport to go direct to next area rather than run back thru Command.

Tip: Winter Boots from Winter Event is what many use to boost run speed.
╘ I don't remember which armor set (Mission) gave Run Speed Boost, as I have Winter Boots myself.

So knock off the Voth Ground, then quickly visit 1-2 of the Undine Space Battlezone or Voth Space Battlezone. Again more populated instance for faster chance at the Dreads, and try to hit at least 2 and 3 if you can.
Contraband is another great way to boost you when you slightly low, as it can give 2000 Ore every 20 hours. Most Fed aligned however are lucky to get 1-2 a day maybe 2-4 if you find or cycle twice. It's often Found at ESD or Sol System in Confiscate Contraband DOFF. Klingons however can do far better maybe 4-10+ if you do a lot of Maurauding Raid DOFF missions.

Still I admire those who do spend time doing DOFF & Admiralty, as I think it's important to grow and develop each Character to their full potential. I try to visit each character's at least once each day, sometimes I get lucky and visit twice however... ...I have perhaps 1 less Character than Peter, so he impresses me. I wasn't sure I even wanted another, but when KDF Recruit came out I had to, and I still have several vacant Character slots.

My Dilithium is just too precious to sell, especially for rates above 350-375. The Exchange rates where they are, many or most find it more advantageous to purchase it.

There is just now so much to do, I mean this is a very good problem to have. Everyone has a role to play supporting the Federation, Klingons, or Romulans as we emerge into the Alliance more.

Doing event activities after getting the main prize is good for dil too, and usually does not take long.

Yea I understand, never-the-less an excellent point!

Many new players start earning ZEN by selling Dilithium for sure, and when I started you were only given 3 players (long time ago) without buying more so it took some more time; yet exchange rates were also 2-3x lower then too. The Recruit Events later on each one gave 1, which extended that to 7 for everyone so while you can Refine more, you still have to spend time on each toon to earn the Ore.

This game has a lot of Dilithium (sinks) however, so to me it's just very precious commodity.

New players can accidentally decide to give up too much too early. I'd only recommend a 50/50 balance between Phoenix Upgrades and using Dilithium for other things like (Dilithium Store: Phoenix 10 Packs save till you have 40,000) or if you need ZEN, decide how much you willing to give to someone else.

Dilithium can also be used to help earn Fleet Credit, but don't give up too much by donating to Fleet Projects, try to let others also help in the Fleet. Or if you do TFO's earn Fleet Marks, is another good way to help boost your Fleet Credit too. Just realize it's equally important to grow each Character as well to enable them to do more. :)

PS: Note save the Phoenix Tech Upgrade for 2x Upgrade weekends too, you'll be Mk XV very quickly, so your Phoenix Upgrade go even further! We should be having another with 2-3 weeks, as last one was early-mid January, and many Events run every 3-4m or so; this includes the Phoenix Event Weekends where you can trade one Ultra Phoenix token for 2x Experimentals.

I currently have 7 toons, 6 of them are grinding for zen but they are running out of dil faster than I can replace it, that using Boff and admiral missions, rep boxes and the occasional tfo each. on adverage I would say I earn 10k? per toon so after the 8500 I get 1500? back in my coffers

my main toon is using his dil for fleet ships, projects etc.

Kudos on that wise last point, @westmetals

And also thanks to @spy8446 for Clarifying.

Just takes time... ...and patience! And growing each toon more over time also helps, why it's good to balance 50/50 your DIL, between Phoenix Upgrades & donation Dilithium to Fleet Projects OR along with Dilithium to Sell for ZEN. Do one of the later two and pace yourself.

Note: I updated info in my first post above regarding Battlezone's to give a few more insights as well. :)

I do appreciate all the advice and pointers given, too bad there arent any big things you can do to gear 5k+ in a single shot, most ive seen by default is 2k for things like admiralty bonus dil or something. oh well off to grind.
  • spy8446spy8446 Member Posts: 585 Arc User
Yep the contraband, the fleet lab researcher gives you 1200?
I would normally farm new rom missions but that was time consuming, do that 7 times @_@
Aid deferi I used to grind, the fleet mine and the other dil mine.
all with setting up doff and admiralty.
