How do I stop people not on my friends list messaging me?

Hi

I am already aware that I am far from the best player in Star Trek Online. I do not need to be reminded of that. I still have fun. I do not want to see anyone harassing me about it. I want to turn off the private messages in the chat window. Is that even possible?

    you can put people on ignore which means you wont see there text and they wont be able to pm you

    The Social Menu, default letter O key, has a button for Privacy Settings. Here you can set yourself as visible to Friends Only and disable PMs from non-friends. This is also where you can adjust the Auto Teaming for Episodes.

    That said, yeah, there are some vile people in certain zones and fleets. The Ignore button should still work, although the Report to GM might still be broken.

    On another note, if you have questions about the game or need some tips or guides to help you out.. please feel free to ask. You won't be mocked for asking for help.. not here at least. If you're fine the way you are, that's cool too.. just putting the offer out there in case you want it.
