I think there is even a post somewhere (twitter? reddit? here?) recently that said Cryptic wants it to come back. It is probably just a matter of time and resources.

Kael has been pushing for it's return for us for a long while now, but the developers don't seem so eager for some reason.
I believe the stated reason by the devs is that the Temporal Recruit was not inclusive of the KDF. It was strictly Fed only. Up until now it was the only recruit event that was exclusive to one particular faction.
That has now changed as the current Klingon Recruitment is KDF only. Thereby a rerun is more likely now because both sides have an exclusive Recruitment event.
I thought the reason that had been given lately was that the devs felt the art and stuff for the TOS episodes wasn't up to par with the more recent and remastered missions, and they didn't want to highlight that perceived quality difference?
It's part of the charm, gives it the old 60's production values. I thought it was a nice touch.
I think they're fine myself, only think I don't like is the damn film grain.
It's authentic to TOS though; it's why they added it.
That doesn't make it a good addition. Film grain is one of the settings I ALWAYS turn off in games that have it, right up there with motion blur, depth of field, and vignetting. If I wanted the picture to look old I'd buy a CRT monitor and hook that up to my computer instead of my LED monitor.
I don't think the film grain is what the comment was referring to though, if it was I'd think it would be pretty easy for them to go in and remove it from all the TOS maps.
Do they? There has been no word about that, only that the next recruitment after the Klingon one will not be Temporal.
I haven't seen that said anywhere. Fairly recently Kael said in a stream that he keeps bringing it up in meetings cause he knows we want it, but he didn't say anything about it actually being planned.
Why would that be a problem? The ONLY recruit event that includes more than one faction is Delta. AoY just happens to be the 23rd century Federation one. Klingons have the current one, Delta has been run twice already (as has Gamma, which is not only single faction it is also single race and since that race all looks male (though they are actually neuter) it is even genderlocked).
The only faction that does not have their own private recruitment event is the Romulans, though they could probably insert them into AoY as spies without too much trouble, and have them dumped out on the flotilla rather than ESD (and if they wanted to get fancy they could have Kail pick them up instead of Daniels).
They posted it on Social Media, which was in turn posted on here in another thread. Apologies, but I'm not sure which post it was made in, but the answer was yes, yes, yes.
I don't need it either, but I voted yes because some people do.
1. It's the only recruiting-event that hasn't been re-run.
2. It has incredible perks, looking especially at the reputation-related ones and certain traits.
This is entirely my point. I have nothing against the temporal recruit event except for the fact that it is Fed only. As someone who plays Romulan Republic exclusively, I would like to see Romulans included in whatever the next recruitment event is. I made a Delta during the last run of that one, so it would be nice to either have a new event specifically for Roms, or to have Roms (and KDF) included in the temporal event. To be clear, I would much rather have the latter.
