so i really like the sound and animation that these offer, if that is, i have the correct ones in the title.
i found a few on the exchange, but yall know about the inflation there.
so can anyone tell me what ships they come on or other avenues to get them? i tried the wiki, and in the pics, all i see are regular disrup visuals for what comes with the ships. so i am not certain which ship i had that i got them on.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
For upgradable ones your only option is the lockbox versions off the exchange. There are white non-upgradable versions of the Phaser arrays on some of the Disco Fed ships, I'm not sure if the Disco Klingon ships have linked disruptors or standard disruptors on them but either way they wouldn't be upgradable either.

There are also non-linked versions that have the disco visuals but none of the linked procs. Essentially they are basic disruptors that look like the Disco ones. They drop from some of the recent patrols featuring disco KDF ships and also from SB1.
The Disco Klingon ships come with white quality disruptor that use those visuals, and as stated random quality disco style disruptors drop in the disco missions/patrols/tfo's. However they don't have the special mods that the lockbox ones do.

This is true, but they seem to be rather rare. I have only had a few of these pass my way and I do a lot of patrols. They were all white quality, never thought of attempting to upgrade them. If they upgrade, they would be a cost effective method if you were only after the visuals. You would need to find a good way to reliably farm them though.
You should try looking on the exchange and just look at the icon. It's possible that someone might throw some of these up for cheap since they are cheap weapons that just have the visual. You should be able to identify them by the icons, they will have an icon like the one listed here. Otherwise, Integrity or Emitter Linked will be the cheapest variant to buy.. Sensor Linked are going to cost you plenty.
{Edit]} - They are available on the exchange, and fairly cheap.. just search ‘Disruptor Beam Array’ and set the quality to Common or Uncommon.. the whites and greens aren’t worth much but you could upgrade them fairly cheap. It’s just up to you if the visual is worth it to you to put the resources into upgrading a White or Green Quality item... overall, you should come out ahead vs buying Linked Weapons if all you want is the visual.

They can be upgraded and i have a lot... Phaser and Disruptors, i upgrade them for my DSC ships (the ones i like)
The Discovery weapons seem to drop a lot in the SB1 TFO from common to rare and the occasional very rare. Phasers on left, disruptor on the right.
I noticed that as well, I got a couple that way and I ended up doing exactly what I advised the OP to do. I bought a bunch of low mark Disruptors off the exchange with the Discovery Visual and upgraded a full set of them this last weekend for my KDF Recruit. I got 2 or 3 of them from the Starbase One TFO. The only issue I really had as far as upgrades go was that many of the ones I got were Common Quality.. those got salvaged.
Overall though, this was a pretty cheap way to outfit my ship with a cool visual effect. I just searched for ‘Disruptor Beam Array’ and set the quality to Very Rare and looked for the right icon when I looked through the results. They were dirt cheap and with Omega’s and the Upgrade Weekend, getting my recruit a full set of Epic Beams was easy as could be.
I don"t get why it's only beams that get special visuals. Cannon type weapons always look the same (or the difference is miniscule)

I think the issue is that while beams can vary quite easily, cannon bolts kinda can't without going into cartoony stupid. There's only so many variants of an energy bolt you can do really. Tear Drop and Star Wars Blaster Bolt being the primary two. The main difference is probably going to end up being what effects come off it, like with the Tetryon and Polaron cannons, and speed, like with the Zhat Vash Disruptors.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

'Pulse cannons' that bring a beam visual to cannons, like the 'cannon visuals' some beams have only the other way around would be one possibility. Then I could think about fire ball cannon visuals to go with the Fek'lhr theme, maybe shots that create two spiraling projectiles. Another crescent-cannon variant. Little discs, crystalline splinters, "ring projectiles" like retro-raygun shots.
It doesn't always have to be the teardrop-bolt

On the subject of cannons, there are actually a few with some interesting appearances, but we don't really have a nice visual index for them. I recently swapped out my vaadwaur polaron beams on my Quas to the temporal defense cannons, and I absolutely adore the look - feels very much like the ship is spewing out 'waves' of bullet-hell now under CSV.
Elachi Crescent cannons are fairly obvious, although I don't think they look as great in higher quantities. The Voth AP Cannons are quite unique with their own sound effects and a 'dual bullet' appearance. The new Zhat Vash cannons are lovely, both in appearance and (an alien-blaster-like) sound effect. Even stuff like Inhibiting Polaron cannons are distinct from the traditional polaron - visuals and sounds are much 'harder'. Herald AP cannons are quite sexy as well with their deep, indigo-blue projectiles.
I don"t get why it's only beams that get special visuals. Cannon type weapons always look the same (or the difference is miniscule)
Well cannons in most cases are small little bolts where beams are longer (even the pulse beams have larger effects than cannons) Does it surprise you the devs cut corners?

The phase cannons essentially do this, unfortunately though it's Lobi Store BoP and you can only equip one.

Glad you found what you were after. They are cool looking beams.
