worse feature in game

spam fx or on screen object garbage/trash that effects my game. ie party poppers and the like.

they should make it so if players opt out, they dont see this junk on screen and effect their lag etc.

you want to see this junk when you trigger it... good for you, happy for ya... why do I need to suffer from this garbage? make it so we can opt out and not be effected by it. hate it when in confined space like bank in DS9 and folks pop all this junk all over...

    I feel the same way about all the fx spam in space and ground combat.

    Give us an option to turn off visual effects generated by other players, be they in combat or out.

    I vote for DPS is the solution for all things as the worst feature in the game.

    The only official response I remember proves beyond a doubt how out of touch the STO devs are with the game itself, and with players: somehow the visual spam is informative.

    Fast forward years later, past the borg revamp, what do they do? Introduce full screen blinding effects on big enemy ship explosions, items like beacon of kahless that blind every single member of the team for a good 2-3 seconds, Risian science ship with obnoxiously loud and bright starship trait on anomalies lasting a long time, and so on it goes.

    Electrified anomalies is probably one of the worst ideas anyone ever came up with.

    I've long wished they'd make far more visual FX subtle!

    Most People be it Ground, or Space conflicts, want to see more of the ships, the systems; or people, and environments more; or graphics of the environments slightly enhanced, or detailed a little. Certainly not blocked out, or overloaded with Visual FX's. :'(

    I'm fine with party poppers, or disco ball's, yet most of the time, don't see people popping like crazy.

    Visual clutter is definitely one of the worst because there's pretty much nowhere to escape it.

    As an example consoles at the moment are on the event with the choice between partisans and the mars snooze fest.

    A player has a choice of going solo and getting blinded by all the visual TRIBBLE in those timed rooms as the camera, not that it matters as all the friendlies running about makes targetting any reds almost impossible. Or you do the group thing which is just dull bland boring timegating until the end when the entire group is clustered by the station and you can't see anything because the visual clutter on screen.

    Only upside is that consoles have autofiring abilities that trigger off alert status not actual combat so I park my ship over a lane and do what needs to be done with that nights dinner.

    Visual effects don't bother me either way. However they don't display an epilepsy or seizures warning at launch. Battle heavy TFO's such as Binary Stars have a lot of visual effects, so with that in mind they should at least carry a warning at launch.

    Ship weapon loadouts. Heck....ship builds overall. Nonsensical HP and shield values, inaccurate weapon loadouts and firing arcs, and ships darting about and turning like they are BSG Vipers.
