Ship configurations missing from C-store

garaffegaraffe Member Posts: 1,353 Arc User
Let me preface this with the following: legendary ships, bundle only ships, and Mudd's Rip-off Stand ships do not count as C-store ships. When I say C-store ship, I mean anything in the ships tab that can be bought individually for 3000 zen. I am restricting to these ships only because they are
  • account unlock,
  • not unreasonably expensive,
  • you can buy individually to get exactly what you want and nothing more.

The purpose of this thread is to post the ship configurations, not ship class, that you would like to see added to the C-store. By ship configuration I mean BOFF layout, ship type (sci, cruiser, escort, etc.), weapon layout, console configuration, etc.

What I would like to see:

A science ship pack (one for each faction, sold individually) featuring:
  • a lt. universal/pilot seat, lt. cmdr. tac seat, lt. cmdr. eng seat, and cmdr. sci/pilot seat,
  • 4/2 weapon layout,
  • 3 tac, 3 eng, 5 sci console layout,
  • raider flanking,
  • pilot maneuvers.

A science ship pack (on for each faction, sold individually) featuring:
  • a lt. universal/MW seat, lt. tac seat, lt. cmdr. eng seat, cmdr. sci/MW seat, lt. sci seat,
  • standard 3/3 weapon layout,
  • 3 tac, 4 eng, 4 sci, 1 universal console layout,
  • innovation starship mechanic.

    Ignorant trolling is all that user is capable of posting, just ignore it.

    Nothing you suggested is unrealistic. Your suggestions seem pretty in line with current game ship designs and I am sure many would like to see some good cross faction science ships.

    I can't remember that many ships that doubled down on the specialization seats but other then that don't see anything that odd, first seems like a like nimble scout ship with pilot specialization.

    the second would be fairly run of the mill science ship if you ignored the MW seats.

    Really only thing I see that's remotely "power creep" is the double specialization seats, actually unless the OP forgot to add it, it would be weaker then standard Sci ships due to no secondary deflector.

    Now most new ships have 2 specialization seats but they tend to be for different specializations.

    EDIT:
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ba'ul_Sentry_Vessel (Ba'ul sentry vessel as an example of a recent sci ship)
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Vulcan_Experimental_Scout_Vessel (and the playable version of the Jellyfish as an example of a recent scout ship).

    That's actually what caught my eye. A science ship with double MW seatings... could be interesting.
    I haven't tried the Vulcan Experimental Scout Vessel - not one for opening R&D packs and lockboxes, and the prices in EC are way too high for my tastes... still, that's got only one MW seat not two.

    A science ship with 2 MW seats might be fun to play with.

    Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.
    Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.

    Yeah I can't think of any ship that has double specialization seatings, 2 different ones sure but not one that had 2 of the same.

    I don't own either one of those I linked I just picked as they're fairly recent examples of the ship types being discussed.

    Double Specialization seats aren't a new thing, but they are usually only available on Lockbox or Promo ships. That's the one thing in the proposal that probably wouldn't make the cut. To the best of my knowledge, there are no ships with 2 specialization seats in the C-Store. It's been so far reserved for 'special' ships from Promotions.

    Most C-Store full-specialization(as in having Commander of that type) have two of the same specialization seatings, like the Gagarin With Commander Engineering/Miracle Worker and Lieutenant Tactical/Miracle Worker as an example. On higher than C-Store ships(Lobi/Lockbox/Promo) it's fairly rare, but some still do. Such as the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier (T6), which has Lieutenant Tactical/Command and Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Command.

    The 31st century ships have double temp. op. seating.
