Thanks to Crunchy Pirate for some notes he listed in reddit.

"next Meta Event is likely gonna be a choice of promo or lockbox ship...oh TRIBBLE. That's how you get people log in every single day.

2410 tutorial overhaul will be some of the last early content that gets overhauled, they're gonna focus on endgame after that

Klingon Recruitment Event for the Anniversary,

Fek'Ihri content remaster coming soon

FED/Klingon barriers coming down if you meet certain criteria(said criteria wasn't stated and it was mentioned in passing) and it's tied to Recruitment Event somehow

Andre got a PS5 just to test STO on, STO works way better on the new hardware but no next gen optimization patch or port in active development

Crossplay not happening anytime soon

They've had very loose conversations about adding STO to Xbox xCloud(xbox games streamed to phones/tablets) but Magic Legends has a better chance of happening.

Level 65 Romulan boost performed really well, boosted Romulans had hundreds of hours of gameplay versus non boosted Romulans which averaged around 20. DIS version of the boost is also doing really well despite not being out as long as the Romulan one.

newer events will regularly feature more choices to gain daily progress.

Thanks for the bullet points & with that type of news I'm definitely going to take the time & listen/view it in the next couple of days!

"next Meta Event is likely gonna be a choice of promo or lockbox ship...oh TRIBBLE. That's how you get people log in every single day. simply wow & agree

2410 tutorial overhaul will be some of the last early content that gets overhauled, they're gonna focus on endgame after that not sure which tutorial that one is since we have a handful anymore but endgame content growth is welcomed

Klingon Recruitment Event for the Anniversary, Year of Klingon lol

Fek'Ihri content remaster coming soon sounds possibly interesting, while Cryptic is at it add a Fek'Ihri ships' consoles' 2 & 3 set-bonuses

FED/Klingon barriers coming down if you meet certain criteria(said criteria wasn't stated and it was mentioned in passing) and it's tied to Recruitment Event somehow this sounds like exciting potential but also has me worried of some sort of "exclusivity" that some at Cryptic luv which could later lead to a monetization of this option

newer events will regularly feature more choices to gain daily progress. I'm of the mind-set that usually more options are better

That is the only real surprise here—but I am glad the KDF recruitment is confirmed.

I think it will be a glorious YOK after all!

40:30 Next multi-TFO event campaign will reward choice of lockbox or promo ship

The cynic in me suspects it will be awarded one of two ways: character bound or account bound. No way they're going to give away that many high-end ships without some kind of restriction, right? And then I remember than 1000 lobi crystals from the previous one. I'm not sure which way it'll go.

What's the other way? Allowing it to be sellable on the Exchange? I'd prefer account-bound, but could definitely see Cryptic making it character-bound. It would be great to have it normal & sellable upon the Exchange to "shake things up" but don't see Cryptic allowing that.

We have seen Lockbox/Promo Ships become Account-wide via Bundles or through Mudd's Market.

Given recent events in Discovery, those 'temporarily' removed Missions from the Klingon Arc would do well for that revamp and restoration into the game.

The Cynic in me finds it hard to beleive that we'll get the choice of ANY lockbox/promo ship too. "Choice of ships" doesn't necessarily mean ALL of them will be on the proverbial table, although I guess that's the conclusion most will jump to.

I may be wrong, and I kinda hope I am, but I really do have a difficult time beleiving that they'd make one of their biggest cash-cow ships (such as, for example, the Miracle Worker Flight Deck Cruiser) availble this way.

Exactly. I have a hard time believing there won't be some kind of restrictions in place.

oh there will be. you can bet lobi on that.

lol good pun given the scenario lol

Yeah I'm sure it will be a limited selection & probably the least chosen LB & Promo ships if they do it.

For the sake of the ingame economy after seeing the fallout of the lobi event, I hope that is the case. If not, well, I expect there to be even more AFK/botting during the events than last time.

As for the interview itself, I enjoyed listening in; it was very.. humanizing and offered some good insights regarding the decision-making motivations.

I am a little dubious about how much powercreep(further stat-inflation) the desire focus on endgame after finishing YotK/early revamps will bring, but.. time will tell I suppose. I feel like a lot there are a lot of mechanical limitations(noteably: action-sequencing, especially on ground content) holding back the ability to really push the endgame experience further.. beyond just inflating numbers(which only ostracizes newer players coming in). It feels like the current industry standards are FF14/GW2 styled enemy attack tells and having the ability to dodge/avoid them - which is extremely cumbersome/unreliable in STO.

I prefer not having tells. Having the element of unpredictability is what 'forces' people to adapt, which is the way it should be. The game is too easy as it is to add 'tells'.

There is also way too much visual spam in STO for tells to be a viable thing.

Can you imagine what it will be like when everyone gets to pick a free promo ship?

We'll be seeing random teams consisting of only Universe class dreadnoughts.

I'm not that much interested in a Klingon recruitment event.

Hopefully they'll make it such that Fed Klingons can complete the tasks as well, I might even create a Fed Klingon specifically for that. I probably won't be joining the event if it has to be a KDF Klingon though.

The faction simply isn't interesting to me. And I think many other players share that opinion.

Large fights in GW2 have more visual spam then STO, and still use them.

Well we do have it in a few places, like the Crystalline Entity's charge attack, and the electrified floors in "Into the Hive".

I think a bigger problem is those sort of mechanics fit fantasy games far easier then scifi ones, because you can just go "its magic" and be done with it. But in scifi you have to create a reason for it, and its not as common for those sorts of things to make sense in a scifi game.

There's also stuff like the Elachi/Scimitar Conal attacks, most of the Herald/Elachi ground encounters, and the Vaadwaur space Barrages, but the latter can be unpredictable with range differences due to the travel time. However, I could totally see the Voth Citadel fights firing off a series of death-rays with tells akin to the start of the final Balthazar fight in GW2:
    https://youtu.be/JkUMvj3s4RM

This kind of gameplay is becoming increasingly common/expected for action-y games; even in the mobile scene. It's just STO has some underlying mechanical issues that would need some(probably a lot) of work to bring it up to speed.

How else are you really going to push the 'endgame' of STO forward though? Stat Inflation doesn't really push things further, it just widens the gap between established and upcoming players. The only other way I could maybe see enriching the endgame would be to make dedicated healing/support builds(by proxy, general survival skills) more viable/important - which is as much of a player issue as it is a mechanical design one("Killing faster means you take less damage").

Only promo ship I want atm is the Universe class, which will probably be available regardless so I'm pretty excited now :)

Every once in awhile at the logging in at teh beginning of a TFO if STO places me too close to another player one or both of us will keep jittering higher & higher, by the way if you get jittered high enough you can begin the TFO before the time gated count-down ends lol, anyway, imagine all the space taken up with 5 Universe or other big ships & if that causes what I described lol

I'd like the NX or Franklin myself.

I don't know what I would want to pick at this point, I tend to be more character oriented than hardware so I usually pick a character's main ship based on some aspect of the character itself (though not always).

Sometimes it is not precisely Star Trek as such (like I have a Drow character that I have been playing since back in the face to face tabletop RP days and usually put into MMOs as a sort of nostalgia thing, I have her flying an Iktomi for the "spider" motif) though most are. At this point I would probably go for a TOS ship or reasonable facsimile thereof, or possibly the Crossfield science spearhead just to see what the spearhead type is like since I don't have any particular character based idea at the moment.

Whatever they do I hope it is account bound rather than character bound.
