'Tis the season of giving, so why not give yourself something good? We're releasing a brand new pack on the Zen Store on PC just in time for the holidays. For 7500 Zen (and affected by any sales during that period), you can grab a pack of three T6 Ship Coupons and three Experimental Ship Upgrade tokens. That means you can pick three ships you want off the store for much cheaper than usual, and you can immediately upgrade those ships to new heights of power and versatility. What will you be commanding? This pack will be available from 12/18 at 8am PT (17:00 CET) - 1/3 @ 10am PT (19:00 CET).

    Its a great deal so that if I get four of them I can have all the KDF ships again and no longer have to play to get anything :) Great deal if you ask me lol. Yep after being semi casual since DR ruined the game only has taken a year to almost get everything that has come out since then now. So feel free to make me now have to grind this last 5 mil dilithium roflmao.

    Meh.

    I can't think of three ships I'd want to buy.

    Whenever they release a single new ship, I'm already very much doubting whether it's worth it to buy it. Every new ship you get, causes another ship not to be used as I'm not planning on creating more characters.

    Buying three ships means that I'll use even fewer of the ones I already have. And I've got plenty of upgrade tokens. So that's not really a reason to get it either.


    It's probably a very good deal for newer players though. Not so much for veterans I think.

    No mention of if/when this deal will come to consoles... Console players are waiting for so many updates. It used to be we were about a month behind PC, now it seems like we are at least three or more months behind PC. Good luck keeping console players interested in the game if the only update we have had in over a month has been the boring Winter Event that is exactly the same as last year.

Oh I am, by exploring other MMOs that have vast environments, engaging fluid gameplay, challenge, teamwork, and you know, all the good things STO does not and will never have. More ships and endless power-creeping of hard-earned goods from before doesn't make STO's "deals" something other than what they really are, overpriced ripoffs.

    There's just too many ships. And most are essentially repeats of older ships w/ a bit of power-creep sprinkled on top. When a properly geared T5 can 'do it all' its hard to get excited about a new ship, barring it looking cool. Kinda the same apathy I have in WoW... after your 400th mount its hard to care about the 401th. (Especially if I have to pay for it.) It's not Cryptic's fault, per se, since I don't think the game engine lets them do something to be truly exciting after all this time. And its just human nature to get bored by the same thing over and over. Most of my toons have been driving the same ships for >2yrs and I've fine w/ that. Plus what will a new ship do for me when all I do is log on to do whatever event is running, then log off?

    What an extremely odd viewpoint.

    You're essentially promoting the idea of paying to.. not play the game? You know you can already not play it for free right? :lol:

    I definitely think there was a bit of foreshadowing with their: "(and affected by any sales during that period)" but who knows nowadays.

    If you want 3 ships and not whatever pack they are part of, and to x them all, yes its a good deal. The math is simple to do.

    They said it was the season for giving, going by the asking price they mean us giving them more money.

    That mashup ship looks like a prototype for the fed miracle worker ones.

    The advantage here over the usual 3-ship bundles is you aren't restricted to that bundle. You're paying bundle price for a pick 3 grab bad with the value of 3 X-upgrades on top.

    I wouldn't say it's a huge value or anything, but if you're relatively new and/or don't have a lot of T6 ships to your name, it's a pretty good option.

    Without any attempt to add anything to act as a counter to the power creep the value of the upgrade tokens is very subjective.

    While relatively speaking, it might be a good discount, however that pricepoint is beyond what I am interested in spending for a single package.

    If this was a single pair of tokens(T6+T6X) at a similar discount ratio, I'd probably pick it up in a heartbeat; I'd probably even consider a double-pack, but I'm just not interested in the arbitrary ~$80 range that kept getting pushed this year(single-legendaries, the carrier bundle, etc.).
