RIP, unknown, cooler-looking ship that somehow managed to get a hero shot and a multi-angled view in the blog before anyone in the team even noticed something was amiss:

Wow. That's an impressive flub. Not just typos and time/date errors, but wrong pictures too. I wonder which of its specs are wrong.

They should switch the phaser weapon to anti proton... and maybe give the ship cloak. The ship really flies too common, similar fed pilot escorts with worse turn rate... Also the fact that they posted the wrong pic...
this one looks even worse. Wish they kept the wrongly posted version

From their Twitter: "To answer some questions, the "other ship" is one that was made for the Synthwave TFO. We haven't announced if/how it will be released yet, those discussions are ongoing."

Sounds to me like they still might release the other version. I suppose there's a chance that it'll be in a more available way than a lockbox, but only a small chance.

Also, once more, no official discussion about that in Galactic News Network.
So despite various mistakes in blogs already, Kael still doesn't simply ask someone if everything in the blog is accurate and still doesn't post the forums announcement...

And please, don't act like it was a simple mistake, a whole reference sheet of this ship was made, someone even took time to highlight the ship's lines because it's black on a starry void and thus would be hard to see where its hull starts.

Also, I don't remember seeing this class of ship in PIC so it was specifically a detailed created unique vessel for the purpose to be sold later.

Wow, this whole "oops" the whole information has been released has happened now a handful of times it seems & is getting old.

Perhaps 1 is the Destroyer & 1 is the Frigate, just have both skins be released & allow the owner choose which to pilot.

It is a shame Cryptic feels compelled to utilize 3rd party social media more than their own official forums for basic communication let alone when missinformation has been released too.

Good luck to the gamblers out there though still, who knows what they might end-up winning if they win at this pace lol.

I disagree with those who say that the console should have been antiproton.

Phasers are the default Federation weapon type. Even though more weapons are clearly widely in use than in the series, Federation ships still come equipped with phasers, Boffs carry phasers by default and some key member species (Xindi and Andorians for example) utilise variations of standard phasers.

It therefore makes sense that this ship is equipped with phasers and phaser boosting gear.

Besides, it's not as if there's almost no AP boosting stuff around (polymorphic probe array, the crystalline console from the Phoenix store, Voth phase Decoy, Temporal anomaly projector and at least one rather new lobi consoles to name just a few). The latest anniversary ship for example also had an AP boosting console and AP weapon.

    Like what?

As I just mentioned, there are tons of things that boost AP damage. I fly a ship that's stuffed with all sorts of AP boosts, I literally don't even have room anymore to put more AP boosting things on that ship.

Neither phaser nor AP suffers from a lack of attention from the devs.

These ships don't make any sense in the canon, anyway.

For me, considering what they were designed for (expendable non-sentient droid workers), it's like you had an AI piloting a waste collecting truck, except said truck is a Bat-Tank taking design inspiration from the Blackbird with a urban warfare camo paintjob and armed with Tomahawk missiles and an Avenger autocannon.

The only logical explanation I can kinda accept is if it was the Zhat Vash who made those ships, except they're terrible at making utility-looking ships that don't look like Section 31 warships, so to try and not blame themselves for this impressive lack of research, they added a giant Federation insignia on them, hoping Starfleet would be too stupid to suspect a thing.

Also, a tiny detail about the ship: the Starfleet insignia is supposed to be on the VENTRAL side of hull, not the DORSAL one.

In comparison, the 'correct' design - the simpler, possibly-smaller one - looks more like it'd be the (Phobos-class?) frigate. Did anyone take screenshots from Synth Wave highlighting the enemy ships?

The saying 'measure twice, cut once' is a saying for a reason. These posts are the metaphorical face of the game and the company behind it; if various mistakes (including the lack of a corresponding forum thread, or the 'discuss this' button in the blog not pointing directly to said thread when it exists) are a regular occurrence, it reflects poorly on both.

    Their canon appearance:

Maybe they're designed to be better versions of the defense vessels deployed, and promptly brushed aside, in the episode "The Best of Both Worlds Pt. 2" against the Borg when the came into the Sol system. Then they're either intended to be multi-function or are pressed into service for the emergency ship building as to why they're being used like we see.

Other than the logo? Not really any idea. With Titan 'accidentally' being cross-faction, and with a Starship Trait that has dedicated mode just for KDF (but isn't in the Dil Store cross-faction thingy), it makes it all the more odd in my eyes.

Oh well, the game doesn't really try to represent the series in general.

Chakotay's raider also only carried like three or four people in total. It's also a T6 ship with associated 5 boff stations in STO.

And now that I'm thinking of it, many ships have too many stations if you'd wanted to follow the series. Voyager should have four (Tuvok, Kim, Paris and Chakotay), the Galaxy should have four or five (Riker, two forward ones, one tactical and one counselor). Also four for the NX class, with T'Pol, Reed, Mayweather and Sato.

The Defiant is the only ship that has the right amount of stations then as there are scenes like these

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owP8rodvksA

where you have O'Brien, Worf, Nog and Garak on the bridge ... and Bashir has a station behind the captain's chair sometimes.

The Crossfield might also be right. Not sure about that one since the makes of Discovery didn't really bother to give most people names until season 2 or so and some, like Airiam, were only made important in the episode where they were killed off. So who knows what to include as a Boff station there.

Oh and La Sirena shouldn't have any stations since none of the crew are officers. ;)

Actually, Chakotay's ship was not one of the light raiders based on the little courier, it is likely based on the freighter that also used a variant of the peregrine shooting model and that probably formed the secondary hull of the Yeager kitbash ships.

In VOY at least 37 of its crew survived the passage since they are named and appear in the show, and if its passage casualties were proportionally similar to Voyagers then it probably started with a crew of around forty to fifty before the Caretaker snatched the ship, which implies that the Maquis had at least a few small destroyers even if they are converted from freighters or whatever it was before.

In regards to the gigantic Starfleet ensignia on the hull, I sincerely hope that they:
    A. fix the placement of it and move it to the ventral side of the hull
    B. have it be "togglable" in the ship customization
or C. let the vanity shields just cover it up

Because I see no point in trying to get this ship if my Section 31 shield won't cover it up. I want stealth, and having a gigantic white Starfleet emblem on the hull doesn't exactly say that.
Fingers crossed for the return of the Section 31 Heavy Rifle <3

That may be true, but the person I replied to was talking about bridge officers. And we never saw more than four of those (Torres, Tuvok, Chakotay and a reasonable one to include is Ayala). Of course there were more crewmembers than just those four.

The PIC ship design is terrible, probably worse than DSC which was sonewhat consistent. PIC gave us a super weird Borg cube, copy-paste fleets of generic low-res Romulan and Starfleet designs, and space flowers which were the coolest of the bunch.

The only nice ship was the Galaxy in Picard's dream in the pilot...

These 'Synth' ships could be a evolution of the automated sentry pods we see in use at the Mars Defense Perimeter in BoBW. But the whole concept of slave androids is stupid, just have them be AI controlled.

    Reluctantly, I have to agree.

As much as I enjoy both Discovery and Picard.. none of the ship designs in the newer series really does anything for me. I think the only ships they have shown so far that I liked the look of were the Walker and Shepard class. I am still just luke warm on the Crossfield, and the rest are just plain Meh for me.

My favorite by far is the Discovery Constitution Class which is the only rendition of that class that I like.
    Insert witty signature line here.

I've seen one thus far, in a TFO yesterday. Which is more than I can say for the La Sirena.

Honestly, I do wonder what is going on here. I mean, I'll concede that I (obviously) don't have access to the vaunted Metrics that Cryptic worship at the alter of, but if we were to go by their absence in-game, the 'Picard' series ships don't seem overly popular.

Yet they continue to shove them in prize boxes.

Probably because it's the only way they can still make some money off of them.

As for La Sirena: I'm guessing players aren't really interested in that one because it's not a faction-related ship, or even tied to a certain species. There may be some players who like to play a mercenary character (there have been some requests for a mini-faction based on that) but I think most players just want a Fed ship for their Fed character, a Klingon one for their Klingon and so on.
