The Infinity Lock Box, containing prizes from nearly all previously-retired Lock Boxes, will be gain a brand new prize on December 8th. During this time, enemies defeated on both Ground and Space maps will have a small chance of dropping one of these prize-filled packages, while the Angel’s Wake Lock Box will be retired.

This run of the Infinity Lock Box will contain an all-new Tier 6 Starship, the Deimos-class Pilot Destroyer [T6]! Continue reading further on for the full details on this new offering!

The ship reminds me of the little things that come off the Section 31 battlecruiser.

Reminder that the infinity lockbox has worse padding than the regular gambleboxes due every doff pack being its own entity rather than encapsulated inside a choice box the way traits and weapons are.

Worse padding means even less chance of getting that ship or any of the others.

Not to mention lazy so they don't have to develop anything else...like special console...doff and kit abilities...new weapon type.

The ship seems mediocre I wonder how good will be experimental weapon and the console. It is a ship for phaser builds tho perhaps I should switch from disruptors

Sounds like it will be good which will obviously get people to get gambling...perhaps the first lock box ship to cost a billion

I doubt it will cost a billion lol. The trait is not really meta and a console that does phaser damage is good but that wouldnt be meta either unless the passives are great. We shall see.

    I understand the feeling.

They could at least add the consoles of the ships like the new Synth one to the Lock boxes.

Also why the ship is only usable for fed or fed alligned? What will Klingons fly then... that part is absurd and unfair
  • foppotee#4552 foppotee Member Posts: 1,704 Arc User
It looks really nice, at least from the pic, some high fidelity appearance there it seems.

ONLY Federation & Fed-aligned again imo bad decision but then again the Starfleet logo is on the port side.

The console reads as potentially nice & fun to use but really another phaser booster lol hopefully it isn't just copy & paste normal phasers & Cryptic added some innovative new type of phaser to it since they looked different in the TFO.

The Experimental Weapon reads as possibly fun to use & complimentary to energy weapons.

The Starship Trait reads as a nice possibility depending upon how short the duration of use is & their coding but will probably be real cool if timed right with the console clickie.

Giving it Pilot maneuvers was a nice addition.

Not sure if going straight to Infinity is a good sign or a bad sign but just seems the online gambling is getting the dominant attention from Cryptic.

    Can't really disagree with this.

We are Cryptic. Lower your p**ts and surrender your wallets. We will add your bankrolls' distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile. Yum :)

Did Jem Bug gave a unique experimental weapon and a probably meh damage doing phaser console!!!! Didn't Think so! Also did it have pilot manuvers!!!! NA AHHHHH jokes aside it will be a mediocre ship lol many similar ships around. It should have been a miracle worker escort now that would be dope

looks neat, not bad. stats are well, many have said meh...but i dont really fly pilot based. i do like that it has pilot and intel seating. i also like the single icon on the wing.

but LB again as well as not cross faction...and i am certain it will be an absurd cost on the exchange. so...this will be a pass.

The exchange cost wont be that high in the long run, since nothing this ship has will be meta. Even if it is high it will be like Vaadwaur Manasa or Quas. High price and no buyers. This Synth ship has no meta trait no meta console. It will be one of those ships that many people won't bother to buy I think the most logical price would be 600 mil max...

That ship is awful, I absolutely hate the BoFF seating. Easy pass for me.

    This ship is
    1. yet another tactical pilot ship
    2. only available to FED aligned
    3. summons MORE pets via trait
    4. induces MORE seizures with a console that creates (what looks like) a huge area effect
    5. has an experimental weapon with only a 180 degree arc.

    I think I'll pass.

Whenever I saw these ships in Picard, I was under the assumption that they were something more akin to a Delta Flyer or Peregrine. Making this a Destroyer with, so many Boff seats, suggests that each ship used in the Mars attack were full crew of Synths.

I was just going for "looks" nothing more. But in the old days the Jem bug used to be the best ship around STO as a lockbox or a R&D box that cost more than an arm and a leg. Of course, IMO this new ship does is mediocre and not even compare to what the Jem used to offer and a waste of money/time.

Oh well, the game doesn't really try to represent the series in general.

Chakotay's raider also only carried like three or four people in total. It's also a T6 ship with associated 5 boff stations in STO.

And now that I'm thinking of it, many ships have too many stations if you'd wanted to follow the series. Voyager should have four (Tuvok, Kim, Paris and Chakotay), the Galaxy should have four or five (Riker, two forward ones, one tactical and one counselor). Also four for the NX class, with T'Pol, Reed, Mayweather and Sato.

The Defiant is the only ship that has the right amount of stations then as there are scenes like these

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owP8rodvksA

where you have O'Brien, Worf, Nog and Garak on the bridge ... and Bashir has a station behind the captain's chair sometimes.

The Crossfield might also be right. Not sure about that one since the makes of Discovery didn't really bother to give most people names until season 2 or so and some, like Airiam, were only made important in the episode where they were killed off. So who knows what to include as a Boff station there.

Oh and La Sirena shouldn't have any stations since none of the crew are officers. ;)

The Prometheus could be managed by two or three people (the Doctor and the MK II were both near the helm and one of them had to leave his station to fire a torpedo - if you'd wanted to include a first officer station, it'd still be only three based on what limited info we have).

The Enterprise E had only four officers during the battle against Shinzon (five if you include Troi, but she and Worf basically shared a station ;) )

In First Contact, three officers sufficed to blow up the ship so apparently only three officers can take the ship and do with it whatever they like. :p

It's strange, given that the examples seen in Synth Wave apparently use antiproton ordinance... and the first comparison which came to mind is to the Phantom-class escort, which has a similar console (lance + phaser boost).

A logical question at this point would be 'what about the frigates?' Which would, in keeping with the theme, likely be class-designated Phobos and on par with things like the Plesh Tral and Mesh Weaver.

These have an extra set of down-swept wings, so I think these are the up-sized version used for the Synthwave TFO rather than the canon show version.

Edit: It seems they've changed them, see saurializard's post one post down for what I was commenting on the looks of. Now agreed it's kinda small for a Destroyer, unless they've up-scaled it without altering the outside at least.

RIP, unknown, cooler-looking ship that somehow managed to get a hero shot and a multi-angled view in the blog before anyone in the team even noticed something was amiss:

I'm with you in thinking, at least visually, that it was antiproton weaponry & I'm disappointed Cryptic chose phaser again unless it turns-out to be some new phaser variant.

Perhaps Cryptic tossed in a frigate variant skin option for this Synth Destroyer, unlikely but that would be cool imo.

Good comparison to the Phantom, I could've seen this as a stealth destroyer easily, but Pilot is fun too.

I missed that the X Weapon is only 180 degrees though on my 1st read-through, that isn't as impressive.

I was only interested in the trait of the ship to summon two more pets, but not enough to spend money...
This shouldn't be a usable ship, but a ship device, an FED version of the Beacon of Kahless, to sum up a small fleet of these ships, it makes more sense.
