I voted yes only because I like to see ships break the shells a bit and become more variable. It wouldnt be huge difference to keep the sec deflector since it lacks things the sci ships got, but it would make it more unique. That said i am sure Cryptic will remove it
until a sci ship comes out with a 5/3 weapon layout, the secdef stays sci schips only IF they were to add to another class ship, it would be the sci fleet carriers, like the Atrox
What would be the point in buying ANY Science ship then? Not even Carriers have it, and they're still less powerful than a Multi-Mission ship! Carriers need it, not the Walker. The Walker already has Command Controls.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Honestly doesn't really make much sense for the Walker to have one. There really isn't anything that the Walker does that a secondary deflector can augment. Maybe the effects of certain torpedos or the Plasma DoT on a plasma build, but that's a pretty narrow functionality for a battlecruiser with limited sci capability.
there is a class of secondary deflector that buffs torpedoes, and the walker makes for a decent torpedo platform, so there's that
but the slot being there to begin with is very clearly a bug, and it doesn't matter if there's an overwhelming outcry to keep it or not - cryptic isn't blizzard and they're going to remove it
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
You do that and the devs will only dip further and further into the power creep, releasing expensive packs that aren't worth the value and ever stupider loot box ships just to milk the whales even more, just to have "unique" ships.
I thought it was weird when I saw the secondary deflector on mine.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

They certainly don't need to be taking away one of the few mechanics that makes Science Vessels unique and special.
