Ground weapon - rank confused??

Hi,

I am confused on why is it that I as Rank 65 Fleet Admiral, unable to buy any weapon that rank for Admiral rank or above in anywhere in the game? The highest weapon I could get for my Rank 65 toon is the weapon XII (for Sub-admiral level).

I can't google the answer and STO wiki is hopeless rubbish and not explaining very clearly.

    It has always been that way for all equipment (could be few pieces that don't) I just think they never upgraded/updated it because of the amount of time it would have taken to do that with all the weapons.

    Thank you. So it seems that the only way to bring those "Sub-admiral" weapons to Admiral or above is upgrading those weapsons?

    just search by quality, and/or MK number if you are looking on the exchange.

    yes unless you do what Vette said and buy on exchange.

    Thanks again.

    I found some higher calibre weapons on the Exchange. I just wondered that why I couldn't find any weapon that are "Admiral-grade" in anywhere including exchange and STO wiki didn't explain why so I asked that here to understand why.
