You can download the Arc client, install Star Trek Online, uninstall the Arc client, and create a desktop shortcut for the launcher. You do not need Arc to play Star Trek Online except to install the game.

You used to be able to get it off the net, but I can't find it.

You can pull the 'Startrekonline.exe' from the folder from whichever platform you use to launch the game, create a folder, stick it in there, then shortcut it to your desktop. When you run it, it will do a fresh install into that folder (utterly recommended).

Try this to download just the launcher. The launcher should then download the game.

You actually still need one of the launchers in order to update the game and check the game files. Just keeping the launcher around for updates is no problem, you can just find the exe file as others have described, right-click it and select "send to desktop/make shortcut" and use it instead if you want.

Just FYI, this is not correct.

You don't need Steam, Arc or any other launcher to keep the game up to date or to check the games files. All of that functionality is built into the STO Launcher which is part of the stand alone program.

Yup, correct. The 'standalone' launcher is the exact same one launched by all.

and FWIW, I installed it to a USB flash drive. I'm not allowed to have non-approved software on my work laptop, and techically it's not. I would not do any TFOs with it but for some of the dailies it's fine
