If i have to choice between creators not responding bcause they bugfixing, or creators responding but not bugfixing, i go w the first.. and if they havent found the issue yet, what really is there to say..
"We working" will prolly just lead to another avalanche of questions.. so i get it.. lets give them the time and space to fix it.. they let us know when they have something informative to say..
More troubling are their attempts at hypermonetizing literally everything. The fact they don't have money to even spend on proper music - look at the new Synth TFO, it's a badly done MIDI rendition of off-copyright music (Hosts' Mars Bringer of War). Where the money is going no one knows, but it's not on content and it's not on programming.
I don't see STO remotely this way. But I've played other games too, where the monetization is actually that bad. Anything by Rockstar is a constant money-grab, for example. EA is notorious for locking everything behind a paywall and releasing hot garbage.
Everything seemed fine for myself (and others) in game, but when i switched characters (17:03GMT) login server was unavailable, should have stayed on the toon i was on
I was in-game, and we got a 10 minute warning for "emergency maintenance." So login is probably blocked leading into the maintenance.
Some communication from the team would be really great about now... I'm a big supporter of the game, I love it, I'll pretty much always defend it. But I'm getting annoyed by zero official communication here.
Server down again, barely managed to finish the TFO which also bugged out but the bugged transport was visible and managed to get destroyed by enemy NPCs.
I am pleased to discover disabling some visual options, possibly lens flare and bloom, took away the full screen flashing on enemies blowing up. I hope this holds true on borg maps too.
Recently returned, was actually having a good time.. until the update.
Guess I will keep perusing games.. ironically, the unexpected downtime was just long enough to download SWTOR. 10 minute warning came up, and it finished. Coincidence?

That would hold true, if the only employees they had were developers and QA.
I was just in game, in the queue even, when the 10 minute warning came up. Actually managed to finish the queue, but I wound up with an AFK penalty. I never stopped firing on baddies the entire time in the mish and I get an AFK? We even managed to rescue 48 of the 50 transports, 2 got stuck and had to die to progress. I don't know what else the game expects of players, but apparently *I* don't hit that metric.
I think I'm done with this event. Not a fun queue, and having to run it for 14 days would have been pushing it, but 20 out of 30? Nah, not worth it. For those that continue, I hope you have fun.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
Serious question; I watched a whole youtube ad on it yesterday and it looked good but I know literally nothing about it.
I'm very fond of STO and a huge ST fan but it's not been a great gaming experience lately. I start to think I need to diversify.
do you like mining and spreadsheets? if so then yes. if not then it may not the game for you.
Haha, maybe not then! I've had enough spreadsheets at work in my life.
I like to fly my starship around and look at the pwetty things, maybe shoot the odd baddie.
STO, there are far more positives than negatives in my experience, but lately I haven't played much else and that always magnifies the negatives. Why I think it's a good idea to try something similar, but perhaps I should just rummage through my Steam library too.
I imagine that QA while working from home is a new type of hell.
STO isn't the only game suffering from this right now. Heck, games aren't even the only industry suffering from bad or delayed content.
Still not happy about it, but such is pandemic normal.
No it's not difficult at all. Our devs where I work saw zero work interruptions. It's poor management if they are using that excuse.
It's not what you think. It was explained there are 'assets' they were not allowed to take out of the office, so they've had to come-up with work arounds (Using Red-Shirt as test server etc). There is clear evidence that it's affecting productivity (amongst many companies), and blaming 'bad management' is a tad harsh. If, for an example, a Cryptic employee had off-site access to certain parts of the game/database/code and there was a breach that took the game down, or allowed unauthorised access to accounts and assets that personally affected you, you'd be painting the town blue with anger for them being 'careless'. There's no bad management here, just caution.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Was just changing alts, when the server go dark again...
Still, managed to do today event progress, hope it will be remembered.
Some bugs are understandable with so much change in mechanics (experimental ship upgrades with trait solts assigned to ships, and additional slots for gear on ships), and Epic Stroe compatibility, but I would like it more, if there would be some info from devs, what actually happened and what they doing about it...
Saw the 10 minute warning come up just as the last transport was sitting waiting to die. The maintenance warning highlighted just how stupidly long you have to wait from the announce that all transports are gone to the end of the tfo because there was the minute til offline warning just shortly after I left.
I'm tempted to group both my accounts and have one /follow the other for this TFO, normally I'd never do so for group content but given how bad this TFO is I don't see anyone really caring.

Another line of misinformation. Developers don't or shouldn't interact with the customer. PM's and BA's do that. Management should at least put out a "We are broken!" notification at a minimum.

If you really want to know, you should post on the EVE forums or reddit. They will be able to answer your questions better than we will.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
STO is not even close to that level.
THATS interesting. I wonder if the ARC launcher can work around the directX error yesterdays patch created.
Awoken Dead
Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
Yep server crashed again.

No ETA was provided.
Cue the Cryptic Defense Force....they'll be here shortly to explain why it is your fault.

Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.

I hope the devs can wrestle it back up soon!

This "mystery" is not the thrilling kind for me
