Infinity Prize Pack - T6 Ship

grimoaldus1701grimoaldus1701 Member Posts: 79 Arc User
Hi all,
Hope your safe and well this summer. I wanted to start a discussion about the Infinity Prize Pack - T6 Ships. I was wondering what would be your pick and why? Which have the most useful traits? Also what is the most in demand ship if one were in the market to sell to make top EC? Thank you all for your time and thoughts.

I just won a ship yesterday(first time in many years). Picked the Atlas prototype. Had my eyes on that retro beauty for a while. No universal, but at least is has 4 tacs. I can work with that.

Depends on your build really, on what is going to be useful from that pack.

The DPRM is pretty op, but the ship is meh
STYX Trait is a boss killer but ship is meh
Mirror strike wing is a good ship with a very good trait and a really good Experimental weapon
Jem dread has a really good trait for pets

Really it will come down to your build or your future build on what ships really have value and what they can do or accomplish. But a few traits and ships are really bad. So best thing to do is to locate a ship then ask about that ship instead.
Even god rested. No work ethic.

    Tough choice.

Verne: becacuse it looks pretty and It's one hell of an EPG platform
S31 Destroyer: because of it's gimmick and it's pretty good in both modes
Mirror Engle: because it's trait is very powerful for pets
Atlas: because the DPRM is like the best console ever
Crossfiled: because it's a fun sci ship and the 4/3 layout makes it stand out a bit
Cheirax Bio-Warship: very intersting ship, quite unique

Congratulations! I don't have that ship, not that lucky, but definitely know of it & only hear good things of it. I'm a fan of the Atlas & Thrai designs.

My top 5 might be in no particular order: Styx Terran Dreadnought Cruiser, Mirror Strike Wing Escort, Sarcophagus Dreadnought Carrier, Kelvin Timeline Einstein Heavy Destroyer, or 1 of the TOS Dreadnought Starships.

I just wish those type of "gamble" T6 starships from the Promo & Infinity were account-wide unlocks since SO costly & since that probably will never happen then perhaps just their respective consoles & T6 starship traits since we know Cryptic CAN make those account-wide unlocks.

    Reyan,

I wanted to have a look a that ship after I read your post, because: reasons. I have an as yet unopened Infinity Prize Pack. =D

OK, so I went to sto.gamepedia.com's Mirror Engle Strike Wing Escort class variants, and so on to this variant/skin of the ship:

    Ship_Variant_-_FED_-_Strike_Wing_Escort_%28Earhart%29.jpg?version=c480379b51214b6a12a9b9eed8fc619e

Do you see anything wrong with that ship? I sure do. If you look along the spine of the ship, right up towards the middle of it you can see the FED pennant running down the center and it ends with a red circle (probably the warp core ejection doors).

    Like this: <=========== O

If you look closely at the ship, from where the red circle is at, eyeball the aft nacelle struts for the port and starboard warp nacelles you'll see what I mean.

When I look at the aft starboard strut it seems to have a very large grey area as the covering for the starboard strut.

Looking at the aft port nacelle strut, there's only a tiny bit of grey covering. If you pick out the contours and architecture of each side of that ship skin it just does not match.

What do you (and anyone/everyone else!) see? Am I looking at it wrong?

    Peace! ;) _\\//

If I wanted ECs, probably a Disco Connie or one of the other desirable ships.
Right now though, I'd be more inclined to pick up the Disco D7 because I already have one character with the Connie and it would be a straight upgrade from my Blackguard.

Dave, thank you man. I understand what's going on now. I guess it could be classified as a visual distortion or something like that. Anywho, thanks =D

I desperately want the Temporal D7! Sadly, this ship has proven to be like my personal Holy Grail, sought forever and never found.

    It's freaking unobtainium.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unobtainium

Since the late 1950s, aerospace engineers have used the term "unobtainium" when referring to unusual or costly materials, or when theoretically considering a material perfect for their needs in all respects, except that it does not exist. By the 1990s, the term was in wide use, even in formal engineering papers such as "Towards unobtainium [new composite materials for space applications]." The word unobtainium may well have been coined in the aerospace industry to refer to materials capable of withstanding the extreme temperatures expected in re-entry. Aerospace engineers are frequently tempted to design aircraft which require parts with strength or resilience beyond that of currently available materials.

Later, unobtainium became an engineering term for practical materials that really exist, but are difficult to get. For example, during the development of the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, Lockheed engineers at the "Skunk Works" under Clarence "Kelly" Johnson used unobtainium as a dysphemism for titanium. Titanium allowed a higher strength-to-weight ratio at the high temperatures the Blackbird would reach, but its availability was restricted because the Soviet Union controlled its supply.

Just curious, why the Temporal D7 over the Miracle Worker D7? Both grand prize ships.. roughly the same price.. but the MW Variant is superior in every way.
