Klingon mess hall? Which ships have interiors?

gileslestradegileslestrade Member Posts: 86 Arc User
So I won the Batleth tournament on Forcas III. According to the STO Gamepedia, the only place you can put up the trophy is in the mess hall, but none of my Klingon ships have interiors. I also see a listing on STO gamepedia about a KDF chef, whose location is listed as the mess hall. How do I get to the mess hall?

What kind of ship are you using, as all generic KDF ships have the mess hall.

These are from the PC version generic bridge but if you're using a generic KDF bridge it should be more or less identical on consoles as far as I know.

Is there a difference on how you get to the lower decks on a KDF ship? On the Romulan and FED ships, I get into the turbolift and it gives me an option to go to the lower decks. Getting into the turbolift on a KDF ship Does not give me that option. I must be missing something. And what's really strange is when I try to add trophies to the wall in the ready room, it give me an option for the mess hall. But I just don't know how to get there.

There shouldn't be any difference between factions here I just walked to turbolift and it worked like it always does. Granted this could be a console exclusive bug since I play the PC version.

I'm seeing other console folks online say they can't find it either. Is this something that you can do on PC, but not on console?

They are not accessible on Console because the Dev's didn't have time to program in the Bridge interactions before the release on Console. This is a 'when someone has the time' issue, and not a bug persay.

Thanks a bunch. At least there is an explanation.

Interesting. So in 4 years, no one has "had the time" to add a simple interaction context for console? And it's only KDF affected? Seems like it'd only take a few minutes to copy/paste the relevant code from FED or ROM and then change the relevant bits....

That is not the reason and this fact of life for KDF might change when Year of Klingon in a piecemeal way comes to console after it goes to PC in a piecemeal way first.

Actually may not be just KDF affected. Are Federation ships all supposed to have generic interiors as well? My only Federation ship that has an interior is the one that came with my TOS federation character. All my other Federation ships have bridge only. That's why I'm building up my dilithium so I can convert to zen and purchase the Belfast and Galaxy interiors.

Only faction I have that has generic interior for all ships is Romulan.

And that one interior is a TOS interior. That character's other ships have no interior at all.

Ah, ok, your post had made it sound like fed in general, not just tos. Regardless, though, this is something that shouldn’t have required lots of effort, especially if they already have the code written for one faction, so in 4 years they should’ve “had the time”. It seems like in many f2p games, if its not a money generating item or something that garners major attention, it never gets fixed. :/

It's not that simple. It's not one set, it's about 50 or 60 different bridge sets that are available on the PC they have to convert. Yes, yes, I know there's not that many available on console, but that's their reasoning. Even with the smaller number, it's a task they'd have to divert some time to do.

Assuming they haven't done anything wildly strange with the turbolift code, once they have it working on one bridge, it's just a matter of copy/pasting it to the other bridges and change the relevant code piece that determines where it sends them to. Even if they had to do all 60, and it took an average of 15 minutes per bridge to perform these tasks (which seems a bit generous for a copy/paste operation), it should take one person 15 hours worth of time and work.

In 4 years, even if it was a bridge here or there as they had a couple free minutes, they should have been able to get this done if they wanted to. :/

So sure enough, I resurrected my character on my PC version - never even finished the tutorial because I found the controls somewhat clunky. So I get through the tutorial and get command of my ship, and there is a complete interior, where on the XBOX ONE there is only a bridge. So now I'll make a Klingon character just so I can see what a KDF interior looks like.

I agree, seems like something they could have fixed by now if they wanted to. I actually had seen the entire Starfleet interior on XBOX, as it's the same that they used for the interior of the Kelvin Universe ship in the Terminal Expanse mission in the Yesterday's War Arc, so that interior does exist on console.

maybe i am doing it wrong or cant find the dang door, but the fire breathing dread we got for winter event, that i got after that during the winter come back of 2020, i went to the bridge to put my long sharp trophy away and i cant go anywhere else but the bridge.

sorry, cant recall the ship name, i like it, but found out too late it has nothing else but a bridge.
Just switch to your starter ship and use that bridge to complete the task.

You are either misquoting on purpose because you don't like Klingons or, and this is much more likely, you are not as familiar with canon as you think you are.

Klingons are not the 'alien trash of the the Galaxy'. A Starfleet admiral during the conference near the beginning of the film said they might become so if the Federation did not help the Empire get through the disaster caused by the destruction of Praxis.

"Canon" is a word used far too much around here to justify things is should not.

besides if you saw that scene it would be clear that SF personal in had a lot of anti-Klingon biases so what they said shouldn't be taken as a divine edict, but rather a opinion of flawed people.
