Tact Ships and Combat Speed

Lately I have noticed people in Tact Ships zipping all over the place during combat. What gear or skill combo is allowing such speed almost non-stop through the battles?

tact ships are pretty fast from go it's kinda the point of escorts, raiders, and the like. as far what makes them super insane fast. the normal speed boosting traits and consoles. also you can kinda cheat it even on slow heavy ships by having the Competitive engines, and Deuterium Surplus. throw in a Evasive Maneuvers cooldown doff and the helmsmen trait. and you can keep up a massive speed and turnrate boosts up at least alot of the time.

I think I found my answer in the Prevailing Impulse Engine series from the Competitive Wargaming Rep. The movement stats are astounding as related to PvE encounters..time to power level my Rep...

Be sure to grab the Elite marks via the 100 Mark to 1 Elite Mark for as many as you need (maybe one lower in case a lucky daily pack drop) as you're going through it, otherwise you'll be kind stuck as the queues for it don't pop often.

Yep, this is exactly how we're doing it.

Personally, I use the one that procs on healing abilities, the Fortified version. I like this one best because it lets me control when to use those speed bursts. It might be tempting to go with the Innervated version that procs on tactical abilities, but that can lead to a very hard to control ship as you're always firing those abilities as soon as they're available. Some people enjoy that frenzied pace, I personally like being able to control when they proc.

Another way it's done is by using the Emergency Conn Hologram Doff from the Phoenix Box. Having this DoFF slotted for space massively reduces the cooldown on Evasive Maneuvers every time you use Emergency Power to Engines. If you can keep your Emergency Powers at global (15 seconds) then you can pretty much constantly fire Evasive Maneuvers as well. That, combined with those engines means you have constant speed anytime you want it.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I also began to notice people were stacking up weapons with [Thrust] as well? I tried to upgrade one of my Fleet Beams to T13 but the 4th slot is still locked when I try to re-engineer and add [Thrust]? I had seen someone link a Fleet Beam at T13 with [Thrust] and assumed they must have upgraded and re-engineered.
Are there Fleet weapons that have [Thrust] on them already? Guess I need to make a trip back to the Fleet Vendors and double check.

no thats an R&D only mod, and mod slots are from rarity.

cheapest way to get [thrust] mod is make mk II weapons til you get one with it then upgrade it with pheonix upgrades.

Well that explains why I found a crapload of T10 Antiproton beam arrays at 99k each last night..someone was cranking them out.

So what does [Thrust] actually do?

going by the wiki gives 5% turn rate a flight speed when firing.

    It wastes a mod.
