It's an ok ship similar to the miradorn ship, is it worth being in a Promo Box, no but then there is plenty of other ships in there which shouldn't be in terms of specs ect...
It is a fun ship right now but compared with Miradorn or D4X it ain't better then any of those 2.
Edit: Also the experimental weapon in terms of damage is a huge disappointment.
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
So with the fact that I didn't open the box for the La Sirena at the cost of a better ship, and that none of the other ships in the box was of particuar interest, I did so.
And that's totally fine and makes sense.
I should clarify that when I said it was "Absolutely absurd that anyone would pick this ship from the box given all the other far better options," I meant that for the vast majority of the player base.
In your situation, that obviously didn't apply.. your choices were to give this ship a shot, wait for something better to open the box or sell it for the EC. There is no way of knowing what is down the road and if you don't need the EC for anything else, then your decision is sensible. Obviously though, you're the exception and not the rule.
I don't understand Cryptic's single minded ideology on ship construction and promotion to begin with.
The players that want this ship, cant afford it and the ones who can afford it hate it with the exception of a handful of people and that is purely based on space barbie.
I have so much criticism towards cryptic and its promotions, its pricing, its standards and practices that it's not even funny. For instance they have no problem with nerfing ships and items that are in the mainstream when a couple of people say its op for them. Yet they have a huge problem with buffing ships when a ton of people say something sucks and should never be used. Yet will make a whole new item to make up for the failure. Wouldn't it be easier and more cost effective to simply buff the item?
But whatever the case. I will say this. DO NOT TRUST CRYPTIC ON ANYTHING, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AS MUCH AS YOU THINK THEY DO. THEY ARE A COMPANY, THEIR VERY EXISTENCE IS AN EXERCISE ON HOW TO BEST SEPARATE PLAYERS FROM THEIR MONEY. Before you spend a dime on anything in any promotion try to see if you can get on to tribble server and have someone with a token get the ship or item for you to test out that item or ship before you purchase it. Easier if you already have the token. Also, keep in mind, if it's good, expect a nerf in 3-6 months. If it's bad, assume this is going to be the end product.
It's a little more work but you won't regret it as much as you would if you wasted money and resources getting something that's basically a massive paper weight. I have more then enough promo ships that are basically taking up space in drydock because they aren't even good enough to beat out some zen ships. I don't use their traits, i don't use the ships, i don't use the consoles. It was a massive waste when there was something better tried and true.
The ultimate stepping over a dollar to pick up a penny.
I wouldn't object to paying £40 to get a ship or two with zen but after working out how many keys I'd have to buy to sell for the ec to get these box ships, I'll never care or consider these boats to be available.
It's a fun little ship, with the rare feature of having a Dual Commander seating. Now, making his work isn't easy, but it allows some unusual builds. With Pilot, is has one of the most fun ship spec abilities, but not really the most powerful.
It doesn't have access to any alternate materials, but it can be colorized pretty neatly thanks to the available patterns. Not quite as rich as the Risan vessels, but neat.

I actually like the ship...making a beam build with it and being able to have 2 command tac slots is awesome
see, to me thats odd...the ship has such a huge interior space, i think of it more as a storage container with a few weapons.
Yeah but if you replicated 100% from canon it couldn't beat a T1 T'liss by itself (well they didn't call it "Tier 1 T'liss" but they did call it old and out dated and the ship looked like a T'liss) which would be rather disapointing to players.

Technically, none of the DSC ships would stand a ghost of a chance against TOS or later ships, the weapons range and accuracy difference alone is laughable at best (TOS 90,000km against a one meter tall robot, TNG 260,000km against a fleeing Cardassian freighter and her destroyer escort, DSC ... maybe a kilometer or two if they are extremely lucky).

Actually the norm for TNG combat distances (nor DS9 and VOY) isn't actually all that higher the DSC, around the combat distances we see in game, in fact it was Star Trek II that was first to have short combat distances not DSC. I'm not saying the distances from the Wounded are wrong but rather that they're the exception not the norm.

True, they did the slow and close combat thing in TNG normally (Paramount executives wanted to make it more Star Wars like as far back as the movie era and did so over Roddenberry's protests). On the other hand, in TOS the average engagement range was 40,000km and the average speed was about warp four.
Also, in TNG they once mentioned that a photon torpedo would not arm before it ran 10,000 km though they often violated that so the point is rather iffy (though I suppose they could have taken the safeties off those closer ones, not that I could see Picard actually ordering something like that very often).
Also, even with the close distance combat in TNG they rarely missed, whereas in DSC they put out a high volume of fire but rarely hit.
Yes, and the TOS Enterprise could withstand 450 Photon Torpedoes before the Shields went down.
With the ranges we have here, you could get longer range action if you put the original Yamato in space.

Very little reason for me to think anything about it. /shrug

As a Lockbox Ship it's slightly sub par.
As a Promo Ship it's an absolute joke.
It's a completely unremarkable ship and it's ridiculous to have it as a grand prize promo.
Absolutely absurd that anyone would pick this ship from the box given all the other far better options.
so disappointing really....
