use a weapon with knock back.

knock back, spam tab to constantly change targets, the knock back gets applied to several mobs, and causes so much confusion among the mobs that your team can pick them off very quickly, I use the wrath of khan phaser to do this works like a charm.

If you take the west/north path, it's possible to use the contours of the cliff face to climb up and over the left-hand-side of the outer wall, and thus engage the enemies between the gates or on the inner wall before the outer gate is open. This is most effective if using a longer-ranged weapon such as a sniper rifle or the Advanced Herald Antiproton Beam Projector.
