Krystal: Hate to say it, but Starfleet Regulations do say that we respond to any distress call. And if the Hur'q are attacking Karemma, I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few extra photon torpedos.
Not only that, we'd get a better idea of what we're up against too. The attack on Deep Space Nine seemed to indicate they favor swarm tactics... and that's about it. Not only that... their ground forces seemed... I don't know... almost... psychotic? They didn't seem to rely on any real tactics or strategy.
