In the Xbox 1. I go to the SOL staircase and 'customize Starship' I just want my ship to revert back to it's original colour and livery. However I've tried and saved to no avail and it's becoming a little frustrating.
I've tried selecting the original ship, the one I bought many moons ago, but nothing, and the colour scheme even moves on to my other ships even though I kept then original Starfleet colours.
Sounds suspiciously like the vanity effect of your equipped shield. Don't know what to press on the Xbox but you can diasble the effect and fly with your regular appearance.
As seriousdave said, it's likely that you have a shield equipped in your vanity slot - vanity shields (or regular shields in the vanity slot) take precedent over any skin or colour settings you try to make in the starship customization screen. You need to unequip the vanity shield and then it should return your ability to muck about with the visuals.
Also check your equipped shield has visuals disabled too, not just the one in the Vanity slot.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
