Your Opinion - "Best" ship in the game.

seaofsorrowsseaofsorrows Member Posts: 10,918 Arc User
Ok, this is just a for fun thing.. because I'm curious what everyone thinks.

If you could pick one ship in Star Trek Online out of every single ship in the game as the 'best' ship.. what would it be?

The reason doesn't matter because it's opinion.. so you can't be wrong. This is just the one ship you think is the best for you and what you do.. the ship you personally find to be the overall 'best.' This could mean your highest DPS ship, your most flexible, the coolest looking.. however you personally define the best, it's all fair game.

For me it's the D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier. This ship just performs so well for me using Disruptor Cannons, I love the way it looks, love the pets, love the bridge officer layout.. just everything about it is great for me. The trait isn't terrible, but I don't use it just because I have better ones, but of all the ship I have flown in STO this one to this date is the one I consider to be the 'best.'

Ok, one ship.. what do you have?

The D7 looks like it's fun to fly, though for KDF I have a soft spot for the Hammer of the Gods, the Mat'Ha. The WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! of its nose cannon and the explosions of its victims is the song of my people.

My favorite changes from month to month as I play different characters with different themes. Right now it's the Kholhr_Temporal_Warbird - it looks like a classic Romulan warbird, has good seating and consoles, and is nimble "out of the box" without needing an RCS console or Pilot spec. It's decently tanky, and for extra resilience there's quantum absorption.

Disco Enterprise, which is the only fed ship I run now, then the D7 of same, but I'd have to say K'tinga. properly equipped it's a killer and my favorite

That would be the Vaadwaur Juggernaut. Its pretty much the physically strongest ship in the game, being able to do over 1 million dps on the right teams.

In terms of say my favorite ship? Probably between the Borg Juggernaut and the T'Laru carrier on the rom side. I have the MW Donnie and it probably is a "Better" ship than either of those two, but its not as good as the Vaadwaur Jugg.

I would have to say the Arbiter Battle cruiser. I love that ship w/ the Avenger skin.

I really tried, but I can't pick just one "best"; too many ships I just love to bits for different reasons.

I don't consider it to be the best in performance, but the ship I'm personally enjoying the most right now is the Durgath.

I just adore the feeling of a giant Klingon super-capital warship hulk-smashing its way across the battlescapes. The trait is mediocre, but the console actually synergizes quite nicely. The ship basically has two death-beams to cycle between its built-in Gravitic Lance and Molecular Deconstruction Beam(console rapidly recharges the first while boosting everyone nearby). I've loaded it up with a mix of linked/Discovery 'beams' and Nausicaan set/crafted omni. The assortment of beams and cannon-like pulses flying out of the ship in every direction just adds to the overall presentation in a very satisfying way. The throaty "Shrunk-Shrunk-Shrunk" of using Beam Overload on the Disco/Linked Disruptor Beams as you pump death into 'de little babby sheeps' is an absolute joy I hope everyone gets to experience at some point.

For me the Vengeance. My main flies only that since the day it came out, I like it's design, it fit with my characters "headcanon", I love it's performance. I think it's the best for my character, my favorite, but no other character I have owns one. I liked the performance of the Atlas, so I got a second one for my AOY character, My Rom loves the T6 adapted Battle cruiser, several alts fly ships I liked, but my main in her Vengeance is home to me

I do have to say though, the performance of the Cardassian Ghemor, surprised me, even with base Yukawa Frigates. If it just wasn't a Cardassian ship, several of my alts would fly it as their main ship. I've decided to make a new character who is Cardassian just so I can fly it more.

100% t6 vesta for sci with the consoles you can make the best drain build in game and if you add on the dominion polarons its a monster

Well, my best dps ship is a Vaadwaur Juggernaut right now. It's great for actually playing the game but I think it looks horrible. But my best looking ship is the Jellyfish, I guess. Althought the stats aren't the best imo.

Though on characters that don't specialise in exotic damage, I mostly fly the Kelvin intel dreadnought. After that, the Universe class.

Legendary Galaxy class. TNG was and will always be my fav trek, I love the Ent-D. My main since before the game launched has flown one the entire 10 years even when the T5 was a trash ship. I spent those 10 years refining its builds constantly so while the Galaxy isnt the top ship, mine packs a helllll of a punch. I built mine to keep in theme with what we see on screen so it could be even better if i moved away from the theme.

It was kinda luck and kinda choice but my current main, a DSC char, is flying the fleet Gagarin. It hits hard and looks good, especially with the Bozeman vanity shield. And to top it off the gear I've been lucky enough to get at a good price makes the thing a beast.

Until Cryptic fixes the bugs and the huge lag problem, i refuse to give them a single cent. A company that charges hundreds of dollars but can't even give a stable bugfree game (or at least doesn't have bugs that are years and years old), doesn't deserve my money.
Also when coming back after 2 years not playing STO, spending $30 and getting hit immediately with a 7 day account probation.
This shows very little respect from cryptic towards their playerbase and, this is another reason to not spend any single cent on this game.

For me it has to be the S31 Intel Sci Destroyer. The latent stealth ability is fantastic and it's 4/3 Sci Cmdr capability and agility make it the best Sci ship out there. It's a quiet little beast with a rather large bite, especial when kitted with a Plasma/Exotic build.

Best ship in the game imo is the Discovery MW Flight deck cruisers both fed and klink. Pound for pound as it is out the box it is the strongest ship in the game. The swarmers, the weapons, the console and the MW set up. Nothing comes close. it is pretty much a perfect ship for dps.

The Miracle Worker Discovery Constitution is my Discovery Character"s Ship. I have 8 Loadouts for it one for each Weapon Type Endeavor and one for Sector Speed. Phaser is my main build. I only leave that ship to Mastery up other ships, and am working through the Legendary Ships now. I cannot express how pleased I am with that Ship.

Purely from a Tac-Weapons Damage Standpoint. Traits & Consoles not considered. I'm also biased towards Intel but I understand how powerful Miracle Worker is. I actually tend to struggle between choosing a ship that has Commander Tactical versus a ship that has intel. Which is reflected in some of the choices below. These are just a preference, not an "factual" best.

C-Store/Fleet: Gagarin/Qugh Fleet New Orleans / Fleet Ketha
    Lock Box: Mirror Engle
    Lobi: Maquis Raider
    Promo: Vaadwaur Juggernaut

I'd have to agree. The MW D7 FDC leaves every instance looking like the aftermath of Wolf 359. It's a joy to fly too. I waited a loooooonnnnng time for a decent D7 variant for my KDF Tac, and this one definitely delivers.

Looks amazing with the T6 Delta shield.

My favorite ship of all time is the good old Constitution... so in-game, I'm torn between the original and the Disco-tution, as they came in the legendary bundle (since my luck is atrocious with the promobox). In terms of performance, however, I'm leaning towards the Disco-tution. With two hangars of tactical fliers, she is a beast.

My Kor BoP outfitted to the classic B'rel look. It's the single most iconic Klingon ship besides the D7 (which I can not afford after looking at exchange and probably never will).

She turns on a sixpence and is just an awesome and fun little ship.

Of the ships I own, I'd have to go with the Legendary Temporal Flight Deck Carrier - it hits hard, performs well all round and looks great.

That said, I suspect (and this thread supports that suspicion) that the MW version is even better.

I love the Nebula/Galaxy and Akira (FT6 Atila is a very good ship) but after playing with the Legendary Donnie and Sovereign I'd say the Sovereign edges it out for me only because it appears to tank better and dish out the DPS
