Alright, so, I'm playing again in a regular fashion after a very sporadic few years. Almost all of my toons are maxed out or nearly so, so I made a new one for fun. I'm working my way through the Romulan storyline right now. Just hit Level 30 after about a month.
I can't continue the storyline.
I'm stuck.
I need to get into the warehouse on New Romulus.
I can't until I reach Tier 1 in the Romulan Reputation track.
I don't have access yet to Reputations.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?
I could simply skip the the mission, but the completist in me kinda just sits and screams at the very idea...
Any ideas?
[/facepalm]
The reputation system got nerfed to prevent "power creep"; it's called an investment in time and money, and I think I should get a little something for my time and money like being able to stomp the TRIBBLE out of a new guy since I've been playing for three years now!
even at Rep 1 at lvl 65 I still cant get into the warehouse on my Rom, I am just sorta waiting for it to be fixed, although I haven't gotten around to checking since last maintenance. personally however I don't think that progression through story missions should be gated behind reputation that is not even attainable until the end game. so I feel your pain. I basically just make different toons get to that point and find other things to do.

I started playing when it went FTP, so about 7 years ago. I was playing when both the New Romulus material and the Reputation systems were introduced. Reputation started way earlier back then, so it was not a bad idea to tie them together in some fashion. But to have this issue still in place so much later?
I mean, the over-all story arc was much more linear and took longer, but that was also because it was still being written! When New Romulus came out there just wasn't any material to play after you finished it!
And now the order of the story is so scrambled, and if you have played through it all already you have NPCs popping up every time you log a toon in offering you missions that new toons simply aren't ready for and are woefully out of order, making the overall story even more confusing and just ticking me off. I mean, I want to see how they reordered things and find where they restitched the story. They have done some real wonders with the graphics ever since they killed the Foundry, which I understand was putting limits on what they could do....but that's another TRIBBLE-fest no meant for this thread...

Or you could just do the Dyson Sphere opening and Future Proof to get your set gear at like level 5 then rock anything along after that. I have a character with some nice sets when he was lvl 15. yeah it seems out of place but look at it this way. The Entire timelines are kind of messed up anyhow so whether you do them in order or not it still all makes sense LOL!!
Edit: To help, run the current event with 7 of 9 and both parts you will be very happy you did, I was thoroughly impressed and it just made me realize that, It does not matter on the order you play the episodes and this is coming from someone who has watched every episode of TGN, most of Voyager and half of DS9 back in the 90's and I play this game going Wholly so THAT is why that happened!!!!! And I just started playing full time a week ago. basically.

honestly there's no reason not to start rep at level 10, you start earning rep marks pretty early now
I believe you still need to be level 50 to start reps.
you do, my point is that there is no reason for that limitation
The reason for that limitation is to avoid over-whelming new players. The staggered approach to learning the systems in the game is bang-on. It could be sensible to allow alts earlier access to the system, but that depends on how complicated it would be to program.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

the game isn't that difficult to stop progression dead in its tracks. I am already rep 2 on my rom I am pretty sure if I went to new Romulas to go into that warehouse I probably still couldn't get in. so the things I need to get done are not and I just wait for a fix. Which ironically on my main I am doing end game type content with only 9/18 story progression complete so far. End game content I.E. TFO's, Rep Grind, Mark farm, or decide if I should make an alt to get stuck at the same place.
So yeah a fix would be nice even if its the rep 1 fix.

You can get Romulan Marks as early as you want to, really. I believe none of the old Romulan patrols are level locked there, and of course the new patrols aren't level locked either and give you a choice of marks.
Still, the bug is with the mission itself. They did remove the reputation requirement for all the New Romulus missions to turn them into a more "proper" storyline, and they all worked fine until a month or two ago.
The other problem, though, is that they reorganized the missions to the point where you don't get enough XP to get to level 50 by the time you're doing New Romulus stuff (unless you're actually a Romulan), where the open world stuff doesn't open up till 50, and you start getting reputation marks you can't use which only causes confusion. It would help if they'd actually put Spectres, Cold War, and Lost Dominion back into the mission list.
