Gotta give people some reason to spend lots of money on R&D boxes
To be fair, they never mentioned anything about special weapons, like the Wide Angle Quantum. (The Defiant's Quad Canon doesn't count as it is part of a set). So its absence in the write-ups is not a definitive indication. Look at the Galor in the Vanguard Pack. It dropped Spiral Wave Disruptors that also provided the Dilitium Store Unlock.
Without them you wouldn't be able to Unlock the Advanced Phasers in the Dilithium Store. It would be more effort to remove them than leave them. Besides, they had already been 'adjusted' in a Patch months ago.
Besides which, the Scaling write-up for these ships was stunted (only a statement in the Consoles) rather than their usual throughout the Stats.

Have to disagree. I think the new Defiant is far more versatile now it has the Lt. Cmdr Eng, and the turn rate difference is negligible. The removal of one tac slot isn't going to affect this ship with all the cooldowns you can get.

Maybe they thought it was more fitting due to the show? I mean the Defiant was rather engineering intensive...all the engineering magic people like Sisko and O'Brien had to work to keep her together and those weapons powered.

Excellent point(s). I like your Cardassian ship bundle idea. I'm not saying that this "legendary" Dsc-Ent having those Advanced Phaser Beam Arrays, & unlocking them or not, would automatically have me buying the bundle but it would definitely give it more weight in value & be more compelling.

No. They've done us a huge favor by making a more well rounded boff layout. 7 tac powers is slightly too many IMO. 6 tac powers will work out just fine. And having 5 engineering powers (instead of 4) now allows us to more easily run A2B without sacrificing other engineering powers. For instance, now i can run DEM2 or RSP2 instead of having something IMO less interesting like distributed targeting

Pilot boff powers are IMO mostly worthless and are not worth worrying about. The important thing for me is that this Defiant can perform pilot maneuvers unlike the previous versions. Now I'll admit that pilot maneuvers are also mostly a gimmick but they are fun. The pilot boff powers though? I wouldn't worry about them at all.

The Defiant is known for more then just it's tactical prowess.. it was also a very tough ship that was near impossible to kill (unless of course you were Breen.. but that's another story.) The Defiant took many beatings and just kept going.. the 'Legendary Defiant' is more true to the actual screen version in my opinion and from a game stat perspective is wildly superior to the old one. No longer has too many tact slots to optimize.. can be made tougher, can take advantage of more builds.. has pilot maneuvers.. 5 forward weapons.. it's a home run.
The remake of the Defiant is one of the best things in the bundle.. too bad it's locked behind the full bundle paywall.

I agree it fought a borg cube for a long time, and only started to die after it almost got to earth. I hope its consoles along with the others got a enhanced upgrade though. As well maybe change the lt seat to intel ? To represent garak and odo.

Which is what I'd be buying the bundle for - one ship (TOS/TMP Connie). I have a Sovereign already, think a bunch of them are ugly (Galaxy, Crossfield, Discoprise, etc) or don't care about them (the rest). Don't really care about the traits or console sets. All I'd want from that bundle is a T6 ship I could use the T2 Connie costume on. Not paying $200 for that. /shrug
Eh, I'll just go back to hoping that the Constellation quality-pass means we may actually get a T6 Heavy Cruiser.
LTC engineering on the legendary defiant is good - it means being able to slot EPtW3, which is a significant upgrade over 1 (since you'd ideally be using the LT slot for A2B)

Heh, tell that to my Jem'Hadar Strike Ship that can't use the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Bridge that I own.
It has 15.5 base turn rate. That's plenty. It'll turn on a dime with no problems at all.
