You may be right or wrong, no way to know until it will be officially announced somewhere.
Personally I don't even completly trust in what was said in that video where Kael talked about the Bundle.
    Will wait and see…

The "sale" and "normal" price listed suggests, that the bundles will be in store long enough to use both prices, so at least some time after opening sale.

So you want me to pay 200 bucks just so I can get a Miracle Worker Science Vessel? This is Whaling at its worst, folks.

As someone who still has an original hard copy from 2010 and has played since the late 2009 beta, this is insulting. But it's not like the shareholders and management who run the show care how we or the devs who do the work feel about it.

These packs make my head hurt, its the Big Disco pack all over again. For those of us that have been playing for a good chunk of time, the odds are we have many if not most of the ships offered or going to be offered aside from lock box ships that might be in this pack. Cryptic/Perfect World really does need to add in a discount if you have the base version of these ships, it really is paying for the same ships over again if you already have the older version and the consoles they offer up.

Also the marketing on this is horrid the trickle of information is off-putting, I feel for the Dev's that are going to catch a lot of flack from the playerbase over this.

Indeed. This one's on the shareholders and management, not the code monkeys who have to pretend to enjoy their jobs for the cameras.

I haven't checked with the other ships, but the Disconnie included in this bundle is not, stats-wise, the same one that's in the lockbox. It's got a lower turning rate, one less console slot, and the special account-unlockable trait. Just FYI.

How many times have we been told cant directly sell them? O CBS wont let us sell it direct they half to be rare so promo ships.

I've never once seen a dev say CBS wouldn't allow the Connie to be sold directly due to rarity (though plenty of players love to throw that line around). In the early days CBS wouldn't allow endgame Connies at all, but that rule was seemingly removed when AoY introduced a ton of endgame TOS era ships. The only thing they ever said about rarity was for alien ships, which is why when we started getting things like Jem'Hadar and Cardassian ships they had to go into lock and promo boxes.

No Advanced Phaser beam arrays either
And the TOS Connie doesn't have 5fore 3aft weapons setup

Plenty of pro's and cons in this pack. Some amazing skins, and real happy it comes with a Command Oddy. But some of the other Spec choices are a little disappointing. Most disappointed that the TOS Connie doesnt have a 5/3 loadout though. Also, hope the lock box Konnie is getting an update to 5/3 to match the bundle. Every Connie variant should be that way, it doesnt look right for so many weapons to come out of the rear.

So My Zen is bought and waiting until Thursday as a non-lockbox player [mostly] I am seeing value, but I understand why some are sore about aspects. I mean the money is a lot. Especially you go all in, and I am doing that for that Epic Token. It should be something that I will enjoy. I love for it to be cheaper, who wouldn't but I know that I get fair bit out of it.

Awesome! I guess you finally found the time to make the Phase II Enterprise skin I asked you to awhile ago Tom. Very Nice!

Wow, so much shade and salt in here, it wasn't funny.

So let me put in my two cents for everyone.

To the players that are hating it:
I understand that you don't like it, if you don't then don't buy it. Let your hard earned cash speak for you. For me, it's too pricy. Would I buy it if it were individual ships/skins, maybe? Would I hate on it the way you have? no.

To the players that are liking it:
Frankly, I agree with this. I'm loving some of the new skins, even if the skin that I envisioned for my favorite ship (Nx escort) isn't there.

    To the devs:
Keep up the good work. Love the visuals you're enhancing.

    Suggestions to the devs:
Get the rights to Red Dwarf and Galaxy quest and get those ships/crews/uniforms in there. That'd be epic.

To the community leaders who're moderating:
Keep up the good work, and stay frosty.

Oh yes. Definitely if possible get the Galaxy quest uniforms and ships. Us Feddie Bears can have the Protector and the Klinks can have that... Uhhhh, what would you call it. Angry Bee Hive?

Honestly - I'd have preferred a T6 Nova over any of this, but realistically the same applies to the Nova as to the two ship classes you mentioned. They're NOT 'legendary'.

Everything in this pack is a 'hero' ship - the lead ship, commanded by the lead Captain, of whatever series or movie they appeared in. Loathe as I am to say it, the Excelsior, Nebula and Nova don't qualify.

The TOS/disco connie could have been costumes for one ship. They are supposed to be the SAME ship.

The Excelsior probably has more screen time than some of the ships here. It is certainly the most successful Federation ship design. I would also have thought the B'rel fits quite well as at least a nod to Voyage Home, and all its other movie appearances, and a token offering to the KDF in the pack.

I too am surprised that they'd have the TOS Connie and the DIS one as separate ships even though they're the same ship separated by 9 years, if any Constitution variants in the same timeline are separate it's the original and the Enterprise-A, for sure I thought they'd make the TOS and DIS alternate skins instead.

Why the Excelsior wasn't considered a worthy inclusion is more troublesome, it certainly sits higher in the pecking order than the Nova (and for that matter, the Ambassador) owing to how successful the class is both in terms of how long it was in service and how many appearances it made. And of course, the small matter of the Enterprise-B being an Excelsior too.

Making the DISCO Enterprise a carrier kind of makes sense if you watch the last episode of discovery season 2.
Definitely, the Enterprise and Discovery combined fielded over 200 small craft, how much of that 200 was contributed by each ship was never revealed.

From different shows. "years" dont really matter since the size/specs of the ship on both shows are different.

I'm a little confused. It says "Ten of the most iconic ships in Star Trek history, in not one, but two legendary bundles."

But the info at the bottom of about the two bundles doesn't actually mention receiving ships but does mention ship traits, consoles, and ship costumes.

Was that just a slight oversight in preparation of the slow reveal of the ships?

If the ships are included as was mentioned in the paragraph above the bundle info then I'm actually really hyped.

Also probably dumb question, but since they are from the C-Store they will be Account unlocks right? :o

Those two new T6 Constitutions are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Almost makes me want to get them... just for the designs...

...Not sure I can justify 19500zen for it though... that's a lot for skins (yes I get ship slots and the ten ships...but really, I'm just loving the skins...)
  • redwren89redwren89 Member Posts: 257 Arc User
I'm so happy I ain't already bought any of these t6 ships, apart from Odyssey.

This bundle is a huge cost saver with welcome updates and bonuses.

    Thank you cryptic.

Smoking isn't what's making me think about this 😉

I see you're mentioning what's in the bundle for a decent price. I'm afraid I don't see it any other way. For me personally, it's an affordable way to get all the legendary ships together with great bonuses and improvements for the cost of 6.5 c store ships. The saving is astronomical.

Thank you cryptic. I didn't have any of the already available individual ships due to value and pricing but now here I come !

    Well that sucks......

Seriously two Connies??? Man Im bummed at this. No Vesta or even a Nova?? Ok fine the Nova wasnt captained by a legendary hero dude but the Vesta was captained by Ezri Dax and it pretty much saved the the Galaxy from the Borg in the novels (which im sure are canon)

Well I still like some of the other ships in the bundle but this does TRIBBLE me off (sorry to all those that like the Connie but I just think having two in one pack is not great)

Aw mate sorry to read your disappointment.

3 variants on the constitution seems pretty pointless in this bundle. We've only just got the miracle disco connie, relatively speaking and it isn't even the mainstay ship of the Discovery screen series. It was a poor choice to add it. The excelsior/enterprise B has far more importance laid on it. Its featured in multiple films, multiple TNG and DS9 episodes. I wonder what tipped the hat.

Unless its a pricing issue. The newish disco connie is relatively difficult to acquire as its not in the c-store and luckily this bundle solves that.

You can always go grab a nice individually wrapped Vesta from the cstore, or wait for the inevitable t6 Nova :)

Two promo ship variants in the bundle... that's a pretty big slap in the face of the people who went through the trouble of getting one or both of those the old way, and a clear signal that even people who do pursue promo ships should reconsider the time and expense of acquiring iconic ships in that fashion.

If you want to add value to the package then come up with a way to let people trade back their TOS and Discovery constitution ships for alternative promo pack choices, and a way to trade back their Kelvin Constitutions and Crossfields for alternative lockbox ships?

Seriously, Cryptic has been using the disco connie to sell their promo chances for months now, only to laugh at anyone who fell for that by handing them out as guaranteed acquisitions in a bundle. Is this part of a new plan to alienate absolutely everybody?

TL:DR Version = Don't expect anything to remain "box" or Lobi exclusive forever with the changing views on in game gambling.

This and the recent Picard Bundle are most likely an attempt to test the market and find the zen price we a willing to pay for "Promo ships"!
With the Growing hatred of lock boxes and randomized purchases in video games leading some countries to start investigations in to how to regulate or even ban them outright, It only make sense that perfect world would start working on a backup plan for when there primary source of income is regulated in a major market.

I would except all "box" or Lobi exclusives to slow work there way in to the new Mudds market over the next year or two with roughly a 6 month exclusive period for them to be box/Lobi only up till box's are completely phased out.

But of course this is all dependent on how quickly and severely any new regulations are create and put into affect in a major market if your lucky you may be able to keep gambling for years to come.

As for me I find the bundle to be a little expensive but not out of what i would expect from an alternative income source trial. I have yet to decide if i can find a way to make ends meet on the price.

Again, the ship in the bundle is not the same one from the lockbox.

This is true. It's a variant. Like the multiple sovereigns, Odysseys etc

These are not strictly speaking new ships.

I merely pointed out that you can acquire a variant of the ships found in the bundle in lockboxes, lobi and cstore😉

Well, I wasn't sure if they'd put the two Constitutions in as separate ships or combine them and put something in that would surprise everyone. (Like a new ship or something.) A little disappointing that the 2256 Constitution doesn't include the refit skin and other Constitution skins, especially since there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference between the 3 skins it will have. But I'll still fly it. The 2265 Constitution is one I'm really looking forward to, since I've wanted to fly the refit Constitution for a while, but didn't hold out much hope on getting one through promo packs. The new skin is interesting and creates a dilemma: Which skin to fly first, Phase II or Refit. :b Got some of my zen ready, will be getting the rest soon.

I haven't read anything confirming or denying the existence of Advanced Phasers in this bundle. An official statement of some kind would be appreciated.

Also, I would appreciate some confirmation as to whether or not this bundle is a traditional account unlock like all current C-Store ships. (I am aware that all current C-Store ships are permanent account unlocks, however, Cryptic is very good at changing their practices after the fact...)

I also remembered that I was rather unimpressed with the Galaxy's stats (being the first reveal, I quickly forgot). A shame that such a majestic ship seems to always get second-class treatment in STO. They could have at least thrown a hangar, or two, on it or something.
  • tremalidurtremalidur Member Posts: 5 Arc User
Many highlight the bad, but I want to point out some good. Cryptic gives out a lot of free ships, tokens and other goodies. Yes I know sometimes you have to work for it, but still, they don’t have to. I appreciate them for it.

I really like STO and I hope it evolves and lasts another 10 years.

With that being said, despite me already owning a lot of these ships, I am still going to get these variants. I save up my Zen through the year. I convert Dil into Zen and I don’t break my budget for this game. Proper planning and all for the big purchases.

If you don’t want to get them, I get it. Vote with your wallet. But for all the missteps, they really are working hard to keep the game fun. I think we need to let them know that we do appreciate them occasionally.
