After ten years, it's time to make a Legacy. Star Trek Online: Legacy is live on PC right now, starring a returning Jeri Ryan and, for the first time, Sonequa Martin-Green! The planet Excalbia, and a journey into STO's history, is waiting.

I heard about murmurs about Excalbia (from a Ten Forward episode), but that was a while ago (maybe around the time of the Excalbia holonovel….).

The two new missions are great EXCEPT 1 HOUR EACH IS WAY TOOOOOOOO LONG.
Between the TFO AND The missions i spent over 2.5 hours just doing 3 things. I hope you realize not everyone can devote an hour to a mission every single day when they work full time. These missions need to be rethought and shrunk down.
Oh and the timeouts and lag right now are making the game practically unplayable so i literally got off the game 2 min ago and will be remaining off the game till later tonight. Hopefully things calm down a little by then.

And all three of these things are worth the same progress as the Omega Mini-game towards Anniversary completion progress. Go figure.

I arrive with my AoY/TOS character, along with Tarsi. And I'm told from our uniforms that we are from the future....

I disagree. I wish they would do more long episodes and considering the nature of at least the first one (haven't played the second yet) doing is more briefly would cheapen the effect and impact of it. As least as far as the first episode goes it is just as long as it needs to be.
And you don't have to play the episode? You can do the queue or the minigame for progress instead if you're pressed for time.
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

I just wish we had the old seasons setup for the new missions. 2 missions in a season, never heard of that before. We are being pushed through storylines way to fast. We don't spend more time like we use to in a season. As long as these long episodes are balanced, workable and are not stop and chat at every person every 5 meters (5 feet or whatever amount of measurement ).

I loved the missions and I feel they were much better No-Win scenarios than the in-name-only TFO itself (I still need to try the other renegade-like choices, because I expect them to come with high price and consequences as well).

But I can't help but feel something is missing in the last one:
I feel a whole cutscene is missing for the defeat of Borg Queen Seven because it's so abrupt to go from delivering the killing blow and being recalled to the surface, especially since you have pretty much every hero ship in the franchise to assist you. Sure, they're just recreations and they use archived sound files, but could have they shown them disappear each with a cool line to make it better? And it'd have been cathartic to hear evil!Seven undergoing a breakdown from still being defeated despite having gone through this whole gambit.

Hmmm, a certain captain of the Annorax sounds different. A new voice actor?

Man I hope they got permission to use the 2001 A Space Oddyssey theme music for the TO Hell With Honor TFO.

The mission was fun, but the game lagged worse than I've ever experienced, between stutters and rubber banding and delays on abilities activating and registering, it was super frustrating to play which took a lot of the wind out of the episode's impact for me.

Is Cryptic sure about adding Michael Burnham? As far as I saw in season 1 she was basically her own Player Character: Everything revolved around her, and Starfleet failed when she wasn't around. I hope this doesn't carry into the game. Please let her be just someone we talk to and get missions from, not someone who fights with the player.

BTW I've always thought most 'Disco' ship designs looked at home in the 'STO' era. I guess same goes for the slightly earlier 'STP' era.

The endless, relentless, constant ground combat in the missions nearly put me off - the ending, however, was epic enough to make it worth persevering in my opinion.

Also looking. Where' the improvement to Omega Particles?

    1000 points = 3 particles.

The new tech comes with a dil cost to make. Nor did they lower the cost to make Omega Tech.

This isn't an improvement, at all.

Best to just grab the emote and forget the Omega particles exist.

Mikey Spock is in this? Urgh. Why!? None of my toons have any interest in being lectured at by a convicted traitor. Oh well, I suppose that's what 'mute' is for.

I checked, thanks to the 10-year infographic blog. And it turns out the VA is actually the actor who played Future Guy in ENT (and, as in many ST actors, other characters, like the Jem'Hadar who yielded because he came to respect Worf keeping getting up despite keeping getting his rear kicked by him), who is Noye in the game.
So it's actually another role reprisal.

As for the TFO: ... Meh. Nothing special. But it did get me to hum "Kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit..." with the soundtrack... and shout a "Run Charlie Elachi!".

FANTASTIC!!!!! Loved the episodes and curve-balls and cutscenes, and well basically everything in those episodes. Ran as smooth as ice, and almost flawless performance on my laptop too!

I don't know to use the Spoilers thing for the forums....
That said, it was nice to find out what the other ships are that's probably part of the Anniversary Bundle. :)

It started off pretty cool. Excalbia looked great. Then came the trials....deja vu. I already played those it seems. Pretty let down.

You obviously skipped the dialogue that explained why and missed the point of the episodes.

Great job. I loved every minute of the two missions. Loved having both Jeri Ryan and Sonequa Martin-Green provide voice talents.

Really Michael Burnham the worst character in Discovery the first thing I did when I saw her was pull out my phaser and attempt to shoot her not that it had any effect on the npc but then again Seven sounded different as well. Are you also going to be changing Seven in the older episodes as well as this is a sharp change to her compared with a few years and seems really dramatic from the older episodes even from the way she talks

I don't join in on the forums very much, too busy playing the game but I really want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to the folks who are at the helm of this game. You have a tough job and some of the decisions you make will make a lot of people feel one way or another. Some will feel you did a really great job on the game while others will say you did a horrible job.

Thank you for the developers and programmers to actually make this thing run. Sometimes there a technical issues, but I don't mind.

Thank you to the graphic designers who make the game so good looking.

Thank you to all of the actors who reprised their respective roles by lending their voices to their game characters. It not only makes it feel as if I am part of episode from TV or the movies, but it also means that you have given your seal of approval.

    Last but not least -

Thank you to all of those who are on the in game memorials. Thank you for your contribution to Star Trek....you are all deeply missed. "To absent friends".

Also, to point out 44 minute to hour-long missions aren't anything unusual, as far as the story missions go. There are some that are even longer. But as long as you've reached a respawn point (which are frequent) you could resume the mission from there even if the game crashes or you have to exit it.
