Help me choose a new ship

alfred399alfred399 Member Posts: 181 Arc User
After many years of playing, the almighty RNGesus has finally been kind to me and given me a T6 ship from the freebie infinity R&D boxes we got today. Yay me ;)

So, in true first world problem style, I'm looking for thoughts / opinions on which ship to get. I already have the Discoprise, and that's scratched my "I need a T6 Connie" itch.

I'm thinking I'll open it on either a Sci or Tac toon (not decided yet). The options I'm swaying between are the Krenim Dread, T'Liss Temporal Destroyer, and maybe the Jellyfish. So anyone who has one/all of those, do you enjoy them? What's good about them in your opinion, what's bad?

Same goes for the other ships in the pack I guess.

LLAP :)

You probably got to describe how you like to play your ships for any advice to be meaningful.

Slow but powerfull dreads? fast ships? you like having hangar pets?

Get yourself a JH bug ship, if you want something for your tac pylon.

I'm partial to the slower ships myself. Cruisers, Assault Cruisers, Flight Deck Cruisers, the occasional dreadnought. Then there are the science ships that I like. I also like Destroyers. But Escorts/Raiders? No. Those are the only ships I'm not keen about.

    But that's just me.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

Another criteria would be AOE vs single target.

If your toon is going AOE pick a science vessel, no matter the number of ships you do the same damage and kill from 1 to 20 ships single handedly; albeit you will be very vulnerable for some time before unleashing the exotic damage again.

If you are going for single target, pick an escort or escort like ship and let those cannons rain fire on your target. Be careful with more than 4 ships at the same time however.

Also you can pick a cruiser, pump up those beams and it's easier to just let them have it regardless of aimig. Single or multi-target.

Your first choice should be to pick the ship that will land you the most EC when you sell it. Then, after you sold it, buy the cheaper ship of your choice. :)

Copy the character and box over to tribble and try out the ships before deciding.

Regardless of whether or not its good on paper, if you yourself don't enjoy flying it then the unlock will be wasted.

I have the Amarie-class Smuggler’s Heavy Escort and have enjoyed it quite a bit. Plus the Amarie has one of the better interiors of all the ships with multiple decks to visit just for the heck of it. It's captain is a Talaxian engineer who is a bit of an eccentric Federation character opting to wear almost anything other than a traditional uniform.

One vote for the Discoprise - Constitution Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier.

It flies well and looks good.

It's a solid performing dps ship (not meta breaking, but solid), decent seating, and will allow you to get the tactical flyer squadrons pets and launch 36 of them. Reinforcing Squadrons console is fun if you fly other ships with pets. Advanced Phaser Beam Array look good when firing.
