Norway Class

If memory serves me this ship was only seen in First Contact during the Battle of Sector 001. I heard that the cgi file was lost or destroyed so why is it not possible to recreate it from high def stills from the movie. I wouldn’t mind seeing it in game

In-game, it's was 'updated' into the Akira line of ships. You may need to get the Oslo I think.

The Akira variant is an "inspired by" design which doesn't fill the role of an actual Norway class (much like the Guardian being inspired by the prototype Ambassador didn't fill the Narendra's niche in full, or the Steamrunner-like variant of the Akira filling the niche of the T5 Steamrunner way back when.)

Cryptic's built ships with less to go on than first contact offers (remember that for most of the franchise's history CG wasn't in use and Cryptic wasn't laser-scanning the original models, if they even exist anymore) so it certainly wouldn't be beyond them to make the Norway class. The question is always "we could make this ship now but is there something else we could be working on that would fit the current release theme or interest players more?"

Answer for a while is: yes, there has been other things to be working on (ex. Discovery, Jem'Hadar, early TNG ships, TOS ships, and so on.) As they work through the last of Discovery's current offerings though the calculus changes and ships like this become more likely, particularly with (say) later era of TNG becoming more of a focus with Picard.

(Add to this T6 versions of the Saber, Steamrunner, and Nova. This era is where the prime fodder is right now for the c-store.)

The Oslo is the Norway in the same sense that a two door Honda Civic is the same as a Ford Mustang.

Eh, if we have the Steamrunner, I don't see why not the Norway. However, what would its niche be? From what I remember it was a pretty small 'gunship' of sorts sporting a relatively humble compliment of primarily forward-facing weaponry. Maybe a "heavy raider"?

Regardless, I'm not really holding my breath on 24th century ships while we're all under the shadow of Discovery. Picard is a thing, but all the teasers look like they're aiming for an.. artistic departure.. as far as ships go. While I've always liked the the Norway, I'd honestly rather see a T6 Nova and Patrol Escort first.

I'm still waiting for T6 Steamrunner and Saber's to be released. Won't be holding my breath thou I think they are on the same list as the Nova as in never going to see them released

They would be medium cruiser or destroyer, the Norway was a destroyer.

Honestly they don't need screenshots to recreate the Norway. Several games have actually done that already, with some variation between them.

True, but the game does say the Norway lineage in the description of the Fleet Akira etc. You can get close, but yes, not exact.

The Akira and the Norway are nothing at all alike in the source material. The Norway's niche might be as a versatile multi-mission ship, the warp pylons look like they are meant to take interchangeable pallets.

Sure, create your own thread for that topic. This topic is about the Norway Class. Or at least phrase your idea in a way pertaining this topic. You could, for example, suggest existing ships from the game or lore that could fit into a cross-faction pack. (Maybe a Hegh'ta, or one of the Nausicaan Destroyers for the KDF? THe Ha'nom still hasn't gotten a Tier 6 version either.)

    Some ideas
Norway Class Support Destroyer / Nausicaan Flail Support Destroyer T6
(since someone mentioned that it was a destroyer. Memory Alpha says the DS9 tech manual suggested it was a cruiser, but everything is actually a Cruiser in Starfleet except the Defiant and perhaps the Oberth, so I guess that isn't much of a help.)

    • Hyper-Conducting Charge Projector - Experimental Weapon
      • This experimental weapon inducts a strong current in a target's shield and hull, inflicting electrical damage to a target. Each hit causes the target to gain hyper-conducting charge that lasts for 30 seconds. Every time it gains a charge or suffers a critical hit, it takes additional electrical damage based on the number of charges it currently has. This can happen only once every second.
    • Adaptable Shield Grid - Universal Console
      • Passive: The console grants a bonus to shield power and automatically restarts disabled shields every 30 seconds.
      • Active: You emit a 3km radius aura that targets you and your allies. While in the aura, targets periodically gain a shield heal and they have perfect shields, becoming immune to bleed-through damage. This effect lasts 15 seconds and has a recharge of 2 minutes.
    • Starship Mastery: Precise Weapons, Enhanced Weapon Banks, Devastating Weaponry, Enhanced Weapon Systems, Refractive Shield Restoration
    • Refractive Shield Restoration - Starship Mastery Trait
      • Your outgoing shield heals grant a bonus to defense, stealth and shield damage reduction for 15 seconds to the target. This effect stacks up to 3 times. If a target has gained 3 stacks, it becomes temporary cloaked for 15 seconds, but cannot benefit from this trait for the next 45 seconds.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Honestly I think the Norway would be more suited to command, it's the Tempest which I think should be miracle worker.

I think adding more TNG ships would be nice with a few Romulan and KDF thrown in
