Lobi Store Items Question

daimon97daimon97 Member Posts: 368 Arc User
Should I just use Lobi store for unobtainable stuff like consoles and ground weapons instead of ships? I was hoping to get the Baltim Raider because its the best escort raider ship in the store in terms of dps and it seems to be better than my Manasa. I already have tachyo kinetic and elachi bio circuit consoles and the herald AP staff.

Some lobi items like the boolean cannon are bind to character on pickup so you must use lobi.

Ships are boxes that can be sold, so they appear on the Exchange for around 200 million EC (on PC). If you are good at generating EC you might want to buy the ship with EC instead of lobi.

Personally I would take care of my own toons and myself first before I worried about buying stuff to potentially sell. I'm quite fond of the Tzenkethi ground set because of the knockdown power it gives me and survival on the ground. Privateer set is another great one I've gotten a ton of mileage out of. Far as ships go, the Baltim Raider is definitely a fun little ship though in terms of ships I would first ask what your goals are for your build as to what lobi ship would be good for what you're wanting to do. There's definitely a good selection of lobi ships to pick from.

Far as your Manasa and overall you seem to be a bit unsure about what you want to do. If you're unsure as your post suggests than perhaps you should wait a bit. For your Manasa if you want to improve your DPS with it in the mean time then perhaps we could take a look at your build and offer some suggestions. A large portion if not the largest portion of your DPS comes from your piloting.

Ideally yes, you should only buy "bind-on-pickup" stuff in the lobi store. Most players would be better off buying lobi items that are unbound with EC. At the end of the day though, it's your lobi. Do what you want with it.

I would also keep in mind that at current key prices, that lobi is very roughly worth about 1 million EC per unit meaning that a lobi ship paid for with 900 lobi would cost you roughly 900 million EC worth of lobi when you could buy it for around 200 million EC on the exchange. It would be really expensive to re-acquire that lobi by opening new lock boxes and promo packs. At the very least, DO NOT buy a lobi ship with lobi until there's a really good lobi sale.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

That 50% Lobi Sale a few months back was awesome. Space and Ground Equipment that is Bind on Aquire are usually best to get.

There is one Lobi Ship that is Bind on Acquire and that is the original Episode Reward Dyson Science Destroyer.

Surprisingly, Lobi ships are cheap on the Exchange considering the cost of acquiring them. Using the Master Key as the basis of costs, lobi ships should be a lot more if you only consider them as the only thing of value from a lockbox. But since there must be a glut of lobi in the game as people go for the ships, their value is depressed.

Actually the case is that statistically speaking by the time you have enough Lobi for a ship you probably also have a Lockbox ship to sell (average 1 ship per 100 boxes opened, takes an average of 180 boxes opened to get 900 Lobi). So the Lockbox ship, mostly, pays for the process, and the Lobi ship is extra profit.

Basically true but lock box is the one with 1 in 250 odds, R&D pack is the 1 in 100. For both, on average you get 1,000 lobi so more than enough for a lobi ship for every lock box or pack ship you get.

The lobi ship is the consolation prize for if you open 250 / 100 and still don't get a ship, since the odds of getting a ship (before you open any of the 250 boxes / 100 packs) are only 67% not 100%.

    Very wise observations davefenestrator.

The R&D packs aren't so bad, because aside from the R&D, the 10 lobi they give is very nice... something most tend to forget about.

They are a good way to top up Lobi if there is something you are looking at while also getting a boost to R&D.

Baltim Heavy Raider is actually a very good cannon boat. I often use at as CCA runner. With its Ambush Gateway Generator, you get +25% Cannon dmg + 1% CrtH passively, plus +5% All Damage for 15 secs, and +5% Critical Chance for 15 secs, when you jump behind the Entity. That, combined with its inherent +33% dmg from Improved Raider Flanking (from having been teleported behind your foe), makes for a wicked alpha-strike!

EDIT: Baltim Heavy Raider is one of the few lock box ships I have on both my Rom and my Fed.
