New VO in early Romulan Missions (maybe?)

It may very well be my imagination, but it seems like new voice acting has already been added to the Romulan Republic, I only heard it briefly but Temer's voice appears to have changed altogether and the full text in the mission giving box doodah was being read out instead of the old "I'm not afraid of the Tal Shiar" (which you know full well he is).

That or I'm going crazy. Or both.

They redid a number of the Roms missions a fair while back now.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Every time I level up a new character I notice little tweaks here and there.

I was playing "researcher rescue" last night, the early Fed mission where the Gorn attack a station and the ground site with the 3 shield generators.

    - On the station, at some point the fire extinguisher became auto-equipped and used with the interact skill (F or controller button) instead of working as a ground device
    - There is new voice work explaining why the Gorn attacked
    - The researcher comes with you around the station, then on to the ground site with more voiced explanations about the site
    - The Gorn no longer ate one of the researchers (no bones)

Overall it was a smoother and better episode than before.

they recently made an unannounced update to the Breen textures, this new VA might have been added then.

I did notice if you have a breen bridge officer the outfit now appears to be a different color if you work

Speaking of the Romulan arc, I just played "Turning Point" (the Khitomer conference) and the episode is mostly improved over Ye Olden Days except Tovan Khev has one new bit of voice acting that is all wrong. The voice doesn't sound like Zach Hanks *at all* and it sounds like it was recorded from a cell phone call. They didn't even match the volume to the lines before and after.

Hopefully the other changes are done better than that.

Yes, the new voice they patched in is horrible. I hope they keep Hanks as the voice of Tovan Khev and that the patch was temporary or something.

I just want them to replace Sela's Congratulations with someone who is NOT a galactic criminal and traitor to her own people.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

but Temer's voice appears to have changed altogether
I replayed the Butterfly mission recently and Temer seems to have both his original and new VA playing at the same time.

Yes, several of them are like that. The Nimbus stuff is really bad for that too for instance, particularly the boss and the fight announcer, the boss just sounds bad either way (and even worse with both at the same time). The new announcer is only slightly less annoying than the original but the relatively flat rendition of the new one is less realistic so it is not any kind of improvement (especially since the old one is still audible at a lower volume at the same time like a mutated echo). Maybe they would have had better luck with a female fight announcer voice.

I just went and replayed the Nimbus missions, and only ran into one instance where the VA played twice, and that was when Hassan walked into the arena. The fight announcer was fine, and didn't have any double playing of lines, and all of Hassan's other dialog only played once. In fact I would say the new announcer sounds better compared to the much flatter older one

Law does have two lines where its obvious he said the words in the wrong order, then said them again in the correct order, and they forgot to cut out the bad take, and there's a few instances of some dialog that had no VA. But overall it wasn't bad, nor did I have any sort of systemic VA doubling problem.

So they fixed some of them :) That is good.

The new announcer is the flat one actually, the old one used the exaggerated enunciation that was fashionable in wrestling the last time I saw it (it was quite a while ago, though from the start of "Big Hero Six" it seems likely they still use it to some extent or the movie would probably not use that same vocal style for the bot fights). Neither the old VO nor the new one are that great anyway so I am not sure why they bothered changing it.
