I would like to know, when we are going to get a Discovery era ships bundle?

You mean a bundle containing all the Discovery ships? Since they releasing them piece by piece, I wouldn't expect that to happen. Most people (that are interested in the ships at all) likely already got what they wanted from the existing ships and a bundle would come too late for them.

The 2-ship packs now get an extra 50 % Discount Coupon for Tier 6 ships now, so you can kinda build your own bundle.

Ohh, I do like the look of these ships! Though I do wonder if the Earhart skin can be used on the Mirror Strike Wing Escort.

Turns out we can. :) Now to wait until I can afford em. :D

Why isn't the Klingon ship Intel like the NPC ones are? No interest in another Command escort.

    Getting lazy with Bridges?

THe first DSC Ships had the Walker Class bridge (i would have preferred a Disco bridge unlock because the walker makes no sense on most ships since you can see through the floor) the Hoover Warship only had the Aquarius (odyssey class) Bridge and the new ships have none of those, only the standard bridges. Why are there not 1-2 DSC style interiors with a Disco style bridge for those ships

"Special Introductory Pricing Discount! From until November 12th at 8am PT, to November 18th at 10am PT, you can get these ships for 2400 ZEN each when purchased individually, or a bundle with both ships and a 50% off Tier 6 ship coupon for only 3000 ZEN! Thereafter, they will return to their normal pricing at 3000 ZEN when purchased individually, or 4000 ZEN for the Bundle."

Well, it's 2400 (was 3000) ZEN for the individual ships (20% off), but it states 3,200 (was 4,000) ZEN for the two ship bundle (rather than 3,000 ZEN) in game.

May need to edit the Special Introductory Pricing Discount! part of blog. :)

I think it is petty of Cryptic not to adhere to what they originally put out there as the selling price. It had me doing some double takes earlier today. It probably was a blunder but let your customers reap the benefits of the 200z. I'm just getting tired of these gaming companies lying either by mistake or intent.

Probably doesn't matter to most since just 200z & Cryptic knows it. Also, didn't Cryptic used to have a fleet ship module in these two ship packs as well or is the coupon replacing that?

Fed ship looks nice, just not crazy for catamaran pancake. ;) Plus more of a cruiser than escort person.
KDF ship is... well, a DSC KDF ship. And I'll leave it at that.

Trait sounds interesting for carriers or maybe groups in TFOs. Depends on how strong those free torpedoes are and what's the cooldown on the proc.

Console sounds similar to console that already exist. Isometric Charge w/ a dash of GW at the end. :)

Never really fond Command spec. So pass for me on these ships.

Because most people don't care about ship interiors, and making a ship interior takes almost as long as making a story mission. So, combined with the long and expensive development time, and a lack of care from the community, it isn't worth it to make them.

Yeah, I'll agree w/ you there. Have one GOOD hi-rez bridge for each faction and I'll be happy for the amount of time I spend there.

OK, queue the inevitable posts about no Romulan (or Jem'Hadar) ships, slapping in the face, abandonment, etc. ;)

In the only real game I play nowadays anymore almost every release is something mechanically and aesthetically unique for each of that game's 3 factions, all at the same time.

However, they introduced a much anticipated 4th independent faction that is assigned to assist one of the existing 3. It has been left neglected, lacking both faction specific item access, and a lot of core gameplay item access. It only has some unique items, while the rest are shared with all other 3 factions. It is also pay to play. To no one's surprise, the statistical player count sits at nearly zero - in real time now on a popular server, of 87 players, 3 are from that 4th faction.
A very nice 25th-centure skin on that ship with nacelles that look sleek and stylish.
Not cartoon-ish like the Resolute or Archon.
It's disappointing that there's no Romulan or Jem'Hadar ship again.

    Right on.

I also can't wait for the DSC aesthetic style to go away, especially the abomination that is Disco 'klingons'. Picard will have to save the day.

Excellent description for that Earhart with the, "catamaran pancake". I kept looking at it admiring it & knew it looked familiar & now that is definitely what I see lol. I really like that nifty little cove with the negative space inside the Earhart with the two more bays/hangars too.

I hope that during Cryptic's next livestream, or maybe the next, the discussion is focused on these two ships, not four, to perhaps learn about their inspiration & development.

"Yeah, I'll agree w/ you there. Have one GOOD hi-rez bridge for each faction and I'll be happy for the amount of time I spend there." ... Another good idea, but not too sure Cryptic would be willing to do if not monetized & then the idea would begin as four bridges & be whittled down to two for shared alignments anyways lol.

No kidding, all the DSC Klink ships are hid-e-ous. The Fed ships still look historically Fed, but this stuff doesn't look even remotely like what we expect a KDF ship to appear as.

I think I am going to pick up the Earhart just because it looks cool.

Stats don't blow me away, but they're good.. and I can have some fun with it.

For a random gripe, calling it the Earhart class, yet the ship has no pilot seating.

I don't know what you are talking about. The BoP is a great necromonger ship and the Sech is a neat little protoss ship. Yeah they don't look klingon...but they aren't bad ship designs per say. Now those cruisers on the other hand...geh...vomit in space.
When's the last time someone survived vomiting something that spiky? O_o'

I have been playing around with the Earhart, I am finding it quite a fun little ship.

Sure, it doesn't have anything that really makes it 'must have' it's not even really 'the best' at anything, but it also doesn't suck at anything. I bought it mostly for the aesthetic, it fit a character I had that really hadn't landed on a ship yet so I grabbed it mostly for that. It's a pretty tough little ship, layout is versatile enough to do just about any style energy build and the hangar bay is nice.

Mine is an A2B build, actually went with DBB instead of Cannons.. just because it seemed to fit the ship better. Using the Improved Tachyon Beam trait to provide self/team shield heals, put Elite Swarmers in the hangar bay. Overall a pretty nice ship, it won't win any DPS records, but it certainly hits hard enough for any content STO can muster even with an off meta build.

    It's a fun ship, I like it.

You know, if they didn't keep doing this only feddie bear and klink BS, I would have loved to have gotten the sech and done a tet DBB build for one of my toons. Probably the whole bundle as the fed ship is not bad looking either. I mean as long as the romulan ship didn't try for a round two of those dewan ship fiasco.

I was not a fan of the Dewan ships at first either, they don't look Romulan because they aren't Romulan and what would be the point of playing a Romulan without a Romulan ship, right?.

On the other hand, using them to bolster the fleet is a realistic route for the Romulans since they are supposed to be really hurting for ships and they are actually nice little pilot ships for the time they came out with a very unique look to them in motion. There are valid roleplay reasons to use one, though they really could use a materials quality pass to make them look less plasticky. For instance a pearlescent sheen similar to Reman uniforms or the TMP Enterprise over the current colors would keep the semi-biotech look but drop the "painted miniature" impression the current material has.

In fact, instead of forgetting the line like the devs seem to be doing it would be good to have some hybrid ships. A "four propeller" Mogai variant combining the two technologies (with maybe a slight touch of Dyson in a few of the panels as well) would look fantastic if done well for instance, and it would help get across the idea that the Romulans are scrambling to recover a decent shipbuilding output much more than just the one-page stories dealing with it do. Also, since they already established that the Dewan technology synergizes well with Romulan singularity tech it would be great if they actually came out with a ship that combines the two, like the hybrid Mogai.

Anyway, why would releasing a two pack with a ship of each real faction have any bearing on how the ships inside it look? Either they look good or they look bad reguardless of whether the ships are sold individually, in a pack, or in a lockbox, they do not change looks depending on how they are boxed up and sold (unless of course they represent actual variants like Fleet models, not just differences in packing).

I agree that the lack of a Romulan ship was disappointing.

    Not surprising.. but disappointing nonetheless.

Looking over the ship the console, experimental weapon and trait are interesting.
Command specialization is among my least favorite, but for a strike carrier (or whatever they're called these days) it might make some sense.

Overall it still doesn't tickle my fancy though.
If there is yet another T6 coupon venture in the future i might pick it up, but it'd be far down the list.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I have liked the general "pancake with outrigger" design for quite a while, ever since highschool in fact when I made something similar with a TOS Enterprise saucer, nacelles, and a few other parts from elsewhere (the struts and secondary hull were badly warped in the kit but I got it as a gift and did not have the receipt to return it). This one looks a lot better in its various versions than either of the comic ship design versions from the last release (and better than the kitbash I did so long ago too).
