Fleet Bridge Officers and ships

salbelly#5273 salbelly Member Posts: 13 Arc User
I have so many questions, I hope it's ok to ask a few I have in mind...

Are any of the Fleet Bridge officers worth getting, is the Android Dr. Brown good? I read it was bugged and you can only get one, is this still true?
What is the difference between Krenim and so on... just appearance? Is a specific "species" the best to get?
Why do they cost so much? They cost as much as a Tier 6 Fleet ship... 180000 Fleet things plus the dilithium is a lot, are they worth it?
Can we earn/buy Spock, Scotty, Ohura or Data Bridge Officers? Can we see what a bridge officer looks like before we buy off a vendor or the exchange?

I recently finished enough reputation to buy enough cylinder things to buy a Fleet ship. Is there a TOS era tier 6 Fleet ship? TOS are my absolute favorite ship designs... but my eyes cross when I see so many ship options and I really don't know what to choose.
Is there a TOS Fleet tier 6 Constitution, or Romulan T'liss warbird option that a Federation captain can use?
What is the best overall T6 Fleet ship one can get?

Thank you.

Each species has specific traits that others dont have...Romulans can have Operative/Superior romulan operative for increases critical hit and severity as well as a cloaking bounus in space...

Krenim have a ability cool down reduction per boff (10% each and it stacks).

Most of the Constitution designs are prise ships..The Taliss is in the Cstore (might be a fleet variant but I cant remember)...For some ships theres a discount for buying the fleet version of a cstore ship of 1 fleet module.

The the purposes of 95% of players in this game. There is no best ship. Fly what you like and have fun.

Thank you for the reply. So, the Bridge officers use these trait bonuses as well?

I do not know all the answers to your questions. The reason you can only get one Android Dr. Brown is not a bug but how it was programmed at the time, you were not able to get two androids from the fleet bridge officers. Other people can help you with the rest. Thanks. :)

Thank you for the reply; I didn't know you could only claim one android officer, other than the female version are their other android Bridge officers? I need to look that up. Information online is quite sparse on Fleet stuff, or at lest I can't find much.
I should have been more clear, I apologize, the bug I was referring to (according to a reddit post) was that Dr. Brown didn't have a unique skin and instead used the female android. I wasn't sure if it had been fixed.

Yea they do. They have space and ground traits. If you slot a boff with a space trait at one of your active bridge officer stations of your starship it will become part of your entire "build". In short they can make you better.

DPSer, performance player if you will, favor tactical Romulan bridge officer with the trait Superior Romulan Operative and one Kentari with the trait Kentari Ferocity from fleet here. :)

It depends a bit on what kind of playstyle you aim for but even if you don’t have a specific one in mind I’d pick the fleet version of the Gagarin here at the moment.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Gagarin_Miracle_Worker_Battlecruiser

Miracle worker ships like this one have the advantage of one more console slot and access to very powerful bridge officer powers. The Gagarin has also a verry versatile seating so you can set it up in different ways.

Is there a TOS era tier 6 Fleet ship? TOS are my absolute favorite ship designs... but my eyes cross when I see so many ship options and I really don't know what to choose.

Back at the day cryptic gave us a handful of TOS style ships for the different playstyles we can implement in game. They are a bit dated stat wise compared to the newer miracle worker ships but of course you can set them up well enough to cope easily with everything the game throws at you.

Tell me do you have a specific play style you see urself pursuing already? I mean as in fast moving escort, resilient cruiser or tricky sci wizard? :)

Never even heard of that bug before. Interesting!

Any T6 ship can play all endgame content well. People trying to reach the top of the DPS League or become a Lord of the PVP Dance will probably need to pick from a shorter list of ships.

The T6 Constitution ships are R&D Promo Pack ships so are expensive to get and are currently only single-character unlocks not account wide. The way to get them without gambling is to sell lock box keys on the Exchange for credits, then use credits to buy the ship from the exchange for credits. This will be expensive, like $250 worth of keys.

For account wide TOS ships, there is this $150 bundle - https://sto.gamepedia.com/Temporal_Special_Agent_Pack

    ... or for $20 + $30 you could buy the Paladin T6 - https://sto.gamepedia.com/Paladin_Temporal_Battlecruiser and the Ranger T5 for its skin - https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ranger_Temporal_Battlecruiser

Those prices will probably go down 20% - 40% for Black Friday.

The way to save the most money would be to buy Zen when it is on sale, then buy the ships when they are on sale so you get a double discount.

First, thank you that is lot of good information!
Well, for play style I think cruiser... currently I use a Ferengi D'Kora and I like it because it has a good turn rate and has pretty good shield strength to keep me from getting wiped out too quickly. (I get destroyed a lot). I usually use Temporal Agent as primary and command as secondary (but it's only because I have no idea what I'm doing) and move into the enemy and put it reverse and start blasting. I have front and rear torpedos and phaser beam weapons, but they are all non-upgraded very/ultra rare quest rewards and the standard crafted Aegis set. I plan on buying and trying different weapon outfits from the reputations, but it's slow going. I probably wont upgrade anything until I find what is best.

I got the Elachi ship from the fungus thing, and it's ok. I also bought the breast cancer bundle and got the Europa which is nice but its turn rate is too low for me, but it tanks better than the D'Kora. And the pilot ship is nice but I get creamed too fast.
What I would really like is a Ferengi Nandi (which I'll never get, oh well) and a nice sturdy TOS ship.

Good ideas, I didn't realize zen got discounted, too. Thanks for the tips!
I like the looks of the Gemini quite a bit.
I like the looks of the Daedlas too, but wow that has low health.

    - Deadalus is a Tier 2 ship, you buy it to unlock its costume to use when you also buy the T6 Nautilus class
    - Gemini is a Tier 4 ship, you buy it to unlock its costume for the T6 Sagittarius
    - Ranger is T5, you buy it for the T6 Paladin

Well from the read and what you like to do the T6 version of the Ranger that @davefenestrator recomended sounds spot on. :)

If we can help you with a build for it here I think most are eager to do. Also the STO League HP is always a good source of information as to what gear and abilities work well in PvE:

    https://www.sto-league.com/

For my Agent of Yesterday char I ended up on the Discovery Enterprise. It can use the TOS skin (but not the parts of the TOS Connie) so I found a good mix of character fitting and performance. If you like here is the build I currently use it with:

    Telora’s Miracle Worker Connie
