    This will be the most AFK’ed event of all time.
    Really? because the enemy ships aren't gonna kill themselves. You have to actually KILL all six waves. This isn't one of those things where you can simply wait out a timer.
    In this version of the event I expact we can sit AFK without moveing with autofire on and kill all 6 waves. Its effectively just one large wait timer as there is no difference if I play or walk away.

    By turning Starfleet's Ultimate Test No-Win Scenario into a no-lose Scenario the devs have destroyed the sprite of what this test is meant to be about. This version of the event goes against everything the Kobayashi Maru stands for.

    You don't have to do anything.. it can't be failed.

    You just sit there until the timer expires then collect your daily reward.

    there is no timer, though - you have to blow up 6 waves worth of enemies...so unless they do what they did for SB1 and stick a hidden timer in there to advance the wave after a set amount of time to band-aid solution that bug where the mission could get stuck if a klingon ship failed to spawn or got stuck in the starbase...you gotta actually kill shirt

    I hope there is no timer, otherwise it's going to be a nightmare trying to get people to actually contribute.

    I missed the last free ship. At some point running the TFO didn't award progress and I missed the announcement that it started awarding progress again or that you had to run some other TFO instead, and so progress stalled out.

    The new system should be an improvement on that front as I *should* be able to go to the events page and find what I need to be running to progress.

    The T6 Reliant-class is the only C-Store ship I think that I might actually be interested in flying right now, but maybe some other ship might offer a console or trait that I can make use of on one of my existing ships.

    It's going to be like the event Sompek last time. No timer, no fail condition, kill 6 waves and you win.

    Personally, the only contribution I want from other people is pressing "engage" so it pops for me. It's now un-failable and not like I can't blow through 6 waves of rubber ducks by myself.

    Not overly concerned about the changes to the event version of this.

    I know it has been said before, but my biggest issue with this mission is the way the ECS Death Wish, which is SUPPOSED to be heavily damaged and powerless (as per Captain Leeroy Jenkins' distress call), behaves - namely flying around at high speed toward the nearest, biggest, threat. Absolutely ridiculous.

    And frankly, there is no excuse for it. We KNOW the devs can do 'powerless and stranded' as the original, and frankly superior, 'No Win Scenario' had the ship in distress visibly damaged and, more importantly, immobile.

    For those who don't remember the orginial version:https://sto.gamepedia.com/Mission:_No_Win_Scenario
    That's not an issue anymore. With the fail conditions removed the Kamikaze Maru is a completely meaningless background prop in this new version. Absolutely nothing will happen when it inevitably suicides. A few runs into the event you'll forget it even exists.

    Meh, I'm not particularly fond of this new way of dealing with difficult content for events.
    I'm glad they're not just bringing it back with no-fail conditions for when the event ends, but come on: where is the sense of accomplishment in doing something that you know it can't fail?
    Sure, maybe it will take a little longer to do with people AFK if those actually doing something don't have much DPS, but it still won't fail.

    Also, still waiting to see how this new event system is gonna make it faster to complete normal-49.gif

    Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.
    Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.

    Was the blog post retconned?

    I'm pretty sure it said yesterday you get 100k Dilithium for claiming the "grand prize" (once per account). Now it says 50k.

    EDIT: "retconned" *facepalm*

    I know having Leroy Jenkins in command of the Maru was a bit of a problem, but the solution of quite literally turning "No Win Scenario" into "No Lose Scenario" is just funny.

    I know! :# The first thing the Maru says is their engines are out. They then go ZOOOMING into the most dangerous area they can find. :D

    I don't know if I'd go that far. It's a pilot spec ship (which is bad enough) but without pilot maneuvers (the only thing that's good about pilot ships these days). All things considered, I'd say it's merely an Ok ship. Not bad but not great. It has standard 4/4 weapons with a typical console layout. Can't load Dual Cannons. The boff seating is pretty decent minus the specialization. The boff layout's saving grace that it can run a standard A2B cruiser build. But the negatives put me off from it personally.
    When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    I was about to setup the Vulcan scout ship for full engineering/tank healing..Well NOPE, with this
    "Ëveryone wins and ignore the actual objective cause its null and void scenario.."

    Can we blow up the Suicidal Maru since its not an objective now or tractor it into warp core breaches of enemy ships????

    Guess the Sovereign is staying on duty for this event..

    What about those of us that never finished the previous free ship? I have 1900 of 3000. I was considering buying the 1000 from the C-Store at the end of the last event but I still would have been short, so I didn't bother. Can I use TFO's tokens to finish that out? Will this round count towards the previous free ship grind?

    I fly one on one character and it's really not. I just fly it because it's neat looking. It's maneuverable, but otherwise completely unremarkable

    50k was the normal payout for Featured TFOs. They mention the 2,500 Dilitium for the Bonus days but don't mention the progressing scale of an extra 2,500 a day maxing out at 25k Dilitium per day.

    OK, without having tried the new version of the KM, without having used my leftover tokens to acquire the reward, without EVEN having moved my ship one millimeter after logging in for the first time after the patch:

    Please, remove the sound made when the bonus throw themselves into your face. Or at least disable it in HUB maps.

    I logged in in orbit of ESD and before I could even do anything except browsing my ship menu, I kept hearing loud "BWONGSsssss" noises non-stop without knowing what was going on.

    Turned out it was someone who had the great idea to try the console nearby and the bonuses kept bumping into my ship bridge with that annoying noise.

    Yes I would like to know this also, I've done the new queue and nothing indicates that the previous point tally has increased and there appears to be no way to "reclaim" these points - are they just being written off

    Better than the last event due to the time it takes.

    But it's still just as bad as ever, if not worse due to the no lose scenario aspect.

    yeah 50k per toon who did event... so it was increased only to nerf it back to standard... yet still only 1 toon can get 50k. even with the bonus each day your still getting less if your one to run this on multi toons on 1 account.
