Kobayashi Maru event and FTFO commendations

wideningxgyrewideningxgyre Member Posts: 710 Arc User
They've announced the next event: Kobayashi Maru.

"Veteran players that have participated in previous Featured TFOs may still be in possession of multiple “Featured TFO Commendation” items, which are no longer used in the new Event System. In an effort to maintain the value and investment attached to these legacy items, players that still have these will be able to turn them in for Daily Progress and Event Campaign Progress.

Each upcoming eligible event (typically only Featured TFO Events) will have an option to Apply Legacy Progress to the requirements present, allowing you to ‘cash in’ your already-earned (and/or already-purchased) progress, toward these new Events as they become active. This must be done on a per-character basis, on each character of yours that has one or more of the old Featured TFO Commendations."

Does this mean:

- Each day we can turn-in the old FTFO vouchers for daily progress (once a day); OR we can turn all 14 in at once to finish the event and earn the rewards.

- If we turn in old FTFO vouchers, it seems to say that we also earn progress for the new T6 token. "players that still have these will be able to turn them in for Daily Progress and Event Campaign Progress."

- What does "per-character basis" mean? With the new events system, don't we get event "credit" no matter which alt participates with credit going to the account, rather than having to complete the event on a single alt for the cumulative credit?

Example:
An account has 4 alts with 8, 14, 20, 40 (alts A-D, respectively) old FTFO vouchers.

To earn the reward, you need to complete 14 days.

Day 1 - Alt A turns in one voucher. Received "credit" for one day (1 of 14). Does the account Event Campaign Progress toward a Tier-6 Starship Coupon.
Day 2 - Alt B turns in one voucher. Does the account receive a credit (2 of 14) or does Alt B get one day (1 of 14).

- Once a day you can earn 50 Event Campaign Progress for the T6 coupon. The buyout is prorated from 700 (14 x 50). Since the event is 21 days, does that mean we cannot earn more than 700 Campaign progress (other than bonus days);

OR "Upon claiming this Grand Prize (whether earned or purchased), your account will immediately become eligible for Bonus Progress. Each day thereafter will grant an increasing amount of Dilithium Ore as an additional reward for continuing to engage with the Featured TFO." Is the "bonus progress" here additional Campaign progress toward the T6 coupon (so we could earn a total of 1050 Campaign progress (14x50 PLUS 7x50) toward the required 2100.

- What happens on the 15th day someone does the event (either doing the TFO or a combination of old commendation turn-in and missions). Are there additional rewards like the dil reward from the recently completed Patrol Event?

    You can turn in all 14 at once.

    Does that mean we also can get 14 days of "Event Campaign Progress" and then can run the event for another 21 days to obtain 2100 of the necessary Event Campaign progress?

    If not, what, if anything, do we get as a reward when we run the event on subsequent days? Also, if there is a comparable reward to the "bonus" dil we got for completing the patrols after finishing the event, would the commendation vouchers suffice or would we need to actually run the TFO?

    I'm honestly not trying to be greedy, I am just trying to get good picture of the mechanics.

    Bonus Dilitium as before, 2,500 to begin with going up by 2,500 each day to a maximum daily take of 25,000. Once it reaches 25,000 it remains 25,000 per day for the rest of the Event.

    Is this for a new T6 Token? I've still got my first one (I'm saying to use it on something, but I'm not sure what yet), but is this more towards the first one that anyone else might not already have got?

    No, the reward for the event itself is the Kobayashi Maru beacon. It is, however, part of another meta event like earlier this year, which will earn progress towards another T6 ship token.

    I also suspect the J'ula TFO in November will also be part of the T6 ship token counter.

    If they follow what they've already done this year, then pretty much every new featured (and possibly the Winter Event, too) will be part of the T6 token counter.

    Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.
    Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.

    Im not so sure about Winter event. As the summer event was not part of the Original T6 token run. Doesnt mean the winter wont but i dont think Cryptic would run a event where potentially possible you could earn two ships (completely finishing one event, and finalizing another at the same time)

    They've been giving C-Store ships away for free for many years....it's not a new thing.
