You may want to fix the "can claim" line or add it's from the promo boxes in the brief headline. "Can claim" makes the reader think it's a free ship; "can win" would imply it's part of the Lockbox/"Promotion!" boxes.

Will the Console play Sabotage by the Beastie Boys whenever you press it?

    I love the backpedaling:
Older version: "Captains on PC can claim the U.S.S. Franklin from Star Trek Beyond until October 31st!"
New version: "Captains on PC have the chance to obtain the U.S.S. Franklin from #StarTrekBeyond until October 31st!"

It should have never happened in the first place and you know it.

Also, I find the timing "interesting".

To introduce the "frigate" type of ships, you "offer" a free grind to get one and it's an Elachi ship which I doubt many people are interested in.

Then, before the grind is even over, you bring a new frigate and it's a ship people DID want to see... and you lock it behind a R&D gambling box.

People who assume what other players want are almost always wrong.

Assume what? that folks who had a choice between the Franklin or an Elachi ship would want? odds are good that more folks would want the Franklin. This game is Star Trek... and folks would want a ST ship not some alien race that had none or close to no screen time on the TV/Movies.

But what would the STO forums be without baseless assumptions and wild conspiracy theories?

I'll give you a 'hell yes!' for that. Made my day.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Wow, that'll teach me to actually read the information before hopping in-game and trying, and failing, to find where the free ship is. You got me, really suckered me in with this one. Good show getting me to log in.

All that said, and after reading the information, it's another lobi/lockbox/R&D single character unlock ship and I have zero interest in actually getting them. Now, if these types of ships were made to be account unlocks, then yes, I'd be interested. But, they aren't and I'm not.

I hope that the folks who want the ship get it, as I would like to see scores of them in-game. I actually like the looks of the ship.

Your proof? Hmm? Baseless assumptions are garbage, nothing more. I know people in this game that would choose the Elachi over the Franklin just because the Franklin is from a Kelvin Timeline film. People should only speak for themselves and never try to say what others want.
Given that there were people who objected to the Crossfield-class and related ships even being in the game because they just hate DSC that much, I have to believe you're correct here, Az.

You're wrong about me. If I could have only one of the two to keep, I'd pick the Elachi. Plus the beam set and ultimate tokens were a very nice bonus.

Now if I could sell it, I'd take the Franklin, sell it, and buy my TOS captain a TOS Connie :)

Without a guarantee of a ship pack in EVERY box, I refuse to purchase even 1. Lottery style reward boxes are too costly to make that option feasible to obtain a ship.

That's fine, do what you want. I don't buy lottery tickets or Magic: The Gathering card packs. Or eat shellfish, or watch football, or own a dog, or listen to Taylor Swift's music.

FYI, you can get any lock box or R&D pack ship with a 100% chance for success by buying it from the Exchange using energy credits, but that is going to be expensive too. Buy R&D promo packs (not regular ones!) for Zen, sell the packs on the exchange, get the ship. The cost will be as high as $200, but less if you get Zen on sale and buy promo R&D packs on sale.

Nice ad-hominem against people who disagree with you, as always, you two.

Considering the ship is behind the R&D gamble, just like the T6 TOS Connie and the DSConnie, I'm gonna take a "wild guess" once more and say that since it's not a lobi ship to accompany the Kelvin D lockbox, the minds behind this determined it'd be more valuable to put it behind the most expensive type of gambling and exchange purchase than a lobi or a lockbox.

So I can actually safely guess, based on common sense and your own kind of logic that they're actually expecting a huge profit with it being rare than it being more easily common.

Cool ship and all, but oh boy, they are turning dilex into a rollercoaster with this rapid event switching.

I know not the best trait but I'm digging that Smooth Landing trait synergy concept for some reason, & I'm not disliking the Franklin's appearance in STO how I was thinking I might (but I've only seen the 1 pic so far). The stats, & consoles don't impress me though so not planning to gamble. Maybe I'm missing it, but I thought the "promo" ships always had something distinctive to make them stand-out & wanted? Oh well, good luck to anyone that tries for it!

If the drop rates arent a joke, how many boxes does it take to win a ship?
