o/ all,
I've been taking a look at potential Starship Traits for dedicated torpedo boats, and came across five key ones along with some additional ones. It'll take a long time to obtain them all, but it's a goal.

The Reverberation trait deals with shields and I picked 'Automated Aggression' & 'Stay on Target' because they act a lot like the Secondary Torpedo Launcher ability from the Terran Taskforce Set.
I wanted to throw in Subspatial/Nullifiers as well as it provides passive procs/pets to all high-yields... I've yet to explore the torp world, so not sure what works best yet.
Though these are my choices,
1) What works best for everyone else?
2) Is there a current meta?
Debate on this + help would be much appreciated.
Hugh
**Edit: I've added a few more potential traits

One of the top 3 traits that is missing is Resonating Payload Modification.
My apologies for the late response all, this is my first forum thread since starting 4-5 months ago and I didn't get any notifications from your posts.
I've got a few more traits now, including Subspatial Warheads and Stay on Target... I've noticed that SoT seems to be more consistent than Subspatial Warheads, maybe because I have the opponent within my forward arc nearly 100% of the time and my flick through of the combat log shows it appearing a lot more than the Isolytic tears, though both are great fun. I'm thinking I might need to cycle around and find some more traits, if someone could do a DPS run with me one day and help me analyse a damage breakdown that would be awesome.
I managed to get Resonating Payload Modification off the exchange for 4-5m EC's, that's in my Personal Trait, and not Starship Traits! It's definitely useful.
Here's my current set up, I couldn't really decide exactly where to go with this so here's all the Personal Traits I use in full, cycled around every so often:

https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Inspirational_Leader
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Resonating_Payload_Modification
Terran Targeting Systems (+20% Crit Severity/ -10% Speed Reduction When Critically Hit)
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Self-Modulating_Fire
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Repair_Crews
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Into_the_Breach
Hive Defenses (Summons 3 Hur'q Swarmers When Taking Damage; every 5 seconds, think limit is 9)
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Oblique_Shielding
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Redirected_Armor_Plating
I read that Into The Breach has an AoE debuff on nearby enemies on reddit so I pair it up with my carriers and it seems to work well, and use it with Hive Defenses solely for damage mitigation due to my lack of defense traits/consoles/abilities.
I also did some research on Doff's and here's what I came up with...

*I alternate between the Tykens and another Grav one I forgot the name of...
I hope this helps, and always looking for more suggestions.

What I used to do before swapping to mines was fit the Delphic Distortion torpedo as it gets extra shots off when using high yield. Have two copies of Concentrate firepower and the subspatial warheads trait. This gives you almost a none stop stream of high yields and almost none stop stream of Isolytic tears and the Isolytic tears damage amplifies up when you shoot into a group of closely packed ships. Plus its boosted by some exotic boosts.
Its not for everyone and I have no idea if the ship you have has access to Concentrate firepower but that’s how I did my torpedo boat. Personally I found the damage for Stay on Target to be too low to be useful.
With the possible exception of Repair Crews skip all those resistance traits. If you want a resistance trait go for honour dead. https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Honored_Dead
I'm looking to update the Starship Traits list, has there been many new releases recently guys? I know it's been a while, so I'm hoping so!
I'm debating whether I compile an extensive list of personal space traits for torpedo builds, or has someone done this already?
It wasn’t cheap last time I looked but Vaulting Ambition is great as a space trait. Swarmer Matrix console is good for destroyable torpedoes only.
I think even running around with basic torp would be OP in a beam/cannon build with that trait and the personal trait that debuffs enemies by their rank.
I'll compile a new list this week if I can, I'm sure there's always people looking to play torps!
