There should be a Gamma Rep Project for, like, 10,000,000 GPL to buy a Seal Of Dismemberment. It could be a Tribble reskin.

    Most likely.

I think a memorial at DS9 would be appropriate.

Having a Nog Memorial would suggest that Nog also died... off-screen, because Aaron won't be able to partake in a story about some heroic end for Nog. I don't really like that. Can't we give him a happy and very long life in game at least?
He should certainly be added to the memorial plague, though.

That is the point. They never gave him one and he did not get the chance to. So let's have a memorial.

Even though the actor has sadly passed, the character Nog is still very much alive in-game and is even an NPC on the DS9 social map.

Very sad indeed. :'( RIP Aron and prayers go out to the family. 50 is way too soon.

If they can't or wont do a memorial, couldn't they designate one of the buildings at SFA the Eisenberg wing?

Someone suggested putting the Chimera near Ferenginar, with an intreact to get an Admiralty card with a quote from Nog or Eisenberg himself, kinda the Sally Ride. That sounded neat. But I forgot he already is on DS9 in person, that might be even better.

    I am sad.

He was not supposed to leave us just yet...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

Maybe introduce a new baseball team themed after Nog? "The Chimera Catchers" ?

It's funny, Aron is someone I didn't even know. I'm just one of millions of Trek fans out there. But seeing that he passed... it still hurts, a lot. Trek really does feel like a family sometimes. And hearing that part of this family is no longer with us, it's tough to take in.

It's just some TV series and movies, but how many people has Trek touched? And Nog specifically, his path from kid to officer to suffering with PTSD. How many lives and how many thoughts has that impacted? Aside from the genuinely wonderful person he seems to have been as just himself (the few bits and pieces we get to see as fans), the impact he made with Nog is lasting.

I guess that's my role as a fan, right? To watch and enjoy the wonderful character, but also to appreciate the person wearing the big ears - and make sure the impact he made isn't forgotten.

So yeah... Those are my haphazard thoughts, at losing a member of my big Trek family :heartbreak:

I was surprised/shocked when I read about his passing on my newsfeed.

The shipyard area might be crowded (more than it already does on a regular day) on DS9 if clicking on Nog would give a Chimera Epic Admiralty card, but I think it would be appropriate if the NPC gave it like the Sally Ride.

I'm glad we are able to get the 'Ferengi Dance' emote in the game, but the ship card would make a nice nod to Nog :)

actually if you watch the DS9 Doc. "What We Left Behind", the writers create another season of DS9 for fun. At the beginning of that season Nog is captain of the Defiant, upon arriving at DS9 from the Gamma quadrant, The USS Defiant is destroyed, and Nog is killed.......... So yes in a way Nog is killed in the star trek universe.

With the new event UI they could make an event.

The first brainstorming session for a hypothetical new season of DS9 does not mean things happened in the Star Trek Universe yet.

Just a couple of ideas so feel free to add and maybe the devs will see something they feel is appropriate.

A new t6 fleet patrol called Eisenberg class?
Maybe allow everyone a free claim on a holographic Nog boff.

    R.I.P Aron Eisenberg

This is thread eleventy on the topic, but all but one of them have disappeared so it too will probably be lost in a time-space anomaly.
  • baddmoonrizinbaddmoonrizin Member Posts: 10,302 Community Moderator
They're not lost in a time-space anamoly. They're all being merged, because it's the eleventieth thread on the topic.

Agreed. We mourn the loss of Aron. Nog will forever be in game. When you play remember the joy Aron had bringing Nog to life and spare a thought for him.

I still can't believe he died. It is hard whenever a Star Trek actor dies especially when they are young, at the age of 50.
