Disney & Lucasfilm adapting "Children of Blood and Bone"

Disney and Lucasfilm have announced an adaptation of the YA Afrofantasy book series Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Kay Oyegun (This Is Us) is doing the script.

I guess after Black Panther made major bank, Disney feels comfortable trying something nifty like this.

    It just won the Lodestar Award at the World Science Fiction Convention - it's the new YA book award, not technically a Hugo, but presented with them. I've read it (I've been reading and reviewing all the Hugo and related finalists for the past few years), and it's pretty darn good - lots of action, decent characters, should make a good show (and the book itself is the first in a series, so this one could potentially run and run.)
