What will happen to the accumulated Coupon Progress Tokens for a zen ship?

So that last piece of news told us that the Arena of Sompek TFO will be the last that offers coupons for the free ship. I am currently only at 750 coupons since I wasn't available for the end of the first FTFO and the entirety of the second. Even if I did every day of Sompek I wouldn't have enough for the free ship.

I'd like to know what will happen to the accumulated tokens, can I use them for something else in the future or redeem them for a certain percentage off a ship. Or will they just vanish from my rep tab? I'll be pretty annoyed if that is the case.

    As far as I know, coupon progress should stay where it is. We're told that the coupon itself doesn't expire, so we can leave it indefinitely if we want to save it for a specific ship.

    I'm not sure if this will be a recurring theme for STO to do, but I think they're seeing how well this goes over before they decide.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    They haven't said what happens after this round of events ends. It'd be nice if your progress was saved for the next round (if there'll be one), but we really don't know either way. It's up to you if you want to take the time to get as many tokens as you can this time, in readiness for a potential next time.

    You absolutely have enough time during the 21 day run of Sompek with a minimum of 1050 coupons attainable, and there is bound to be bonus weekends.

    You absolutely have enough time during the 21 day run of Sompek with a minimum of 1050 coupons attainable, and there is bound to be bonus weekends.

    I'm afraid not. (2 bonus weekends x 50 = 400) + (21 x 50 = 1050) + 750 = 2,200 so it doesn't look like they'll make it from just running 1 full event + part of 1 event.

    The options are:
    - buy the rest of the tokens from Cryptic. Be careful not to spend over 2,100-2,400 zen since that's all you'll need to buy a ship during a 20%-30% off sale.
    - relax, don't worry about grinding to the max, and hope that the tokens from some future events in 2020 can be used to complete the

    All you can do is get what points you can and hope that:
    • they do another in the future
    • and that these points will count toward the next event
    Cryptic has become harsher about leftover tokens being used in future iterations of events. So who knows if what you get in the 2019 event will be usable in a 20xx event.

    I got my coupon and once you get it, you can't accrue any more points. Or at least; I have no counter visible. So that would make me think that everyone will start at 0 if they do do another event.

    The MAXIMUM T6 Ship Coupons you could get during this EVENT is 2,050. If you don't have at least 950 T6 Ship Coupons before the EVENT starts you will NOT be able to get the Free T6 Ship Token. The 2,050 number is derived as follows:

    500 from the C-Store Bundle

    1,000 (10 days) from two Bonus Weekends that you must do early on Thursday after patching and ensure you have timed it right to be able to do it on the Monday before the Bonus Weekend expires.

    550 for normal daily runs for the other 11 days of the EVENT.

    I would expect the coupon progress meter and any points left on it will disappear after the event, to be replaced by whatever they do for the next event.

    oh so after you hit 3k you get the coupon you can't keep getting more coupons for next time? if there is a next time.

    If you can't get more tokens after collecting the ship token, then it will not hurt anything. Unless they are going to make it a different currency for each year, like they now do for the Summer and Winter events.

    Maybe they will, but next year it sounds like the progress will be towards an Elachi ship instead of for a T6 ship token? They might only have set up this system to support one "multi event progress counter" at a time instead of several at once.

    In MMOs new players are always going to miss out on some past events. That's MMO life. They get new events though.

    Hopefully they changed their mind, but on the livestream they did after announcing this system they said that the progress would NOT carry over after this particular event's time frame has ended.

    Next year? Starting in September actually.

    If you don't get the Free Ship Token by the end of the Sompek FTFO it is lost forever.
