Hi - just a idea (modes that added any Abilities to your ship)

Hello Devs and Everyone: I like to asked if you can make a special mode or device that we can pick our own abilities to add in our T6 ship - like Command, Pilot, Temporal etc, then buying a new ship with these abilites. Say you can have 3 or 4 pick to one ship?

I like the idea of a plug-in "specialization device" slot that lets you pick the specialization for a ship, but it goes against Cryptic's business plan of selling us 3 ships to use 3 specializations so it probably won't happen.

I think they could implement this without losing the plans of different ships with different specializations, in a rather simple way.

    Utilize the Fleet Ship system.

When you purchase a fleet ship either let us add a specialization device slot for an additional fleet moduel, as purposed, or choose the specialization at the time of purchase for an additional fleet module.

So if you own, for example a T6 Galaxy, you could get a T6 fleet Galaxy for 1 Fleet Module, or make it a miracle worker for 2 Fleet modules.

Not really sure how that would work out. Code wise its not gonna be like a universal seat on a ship. You'd have to basically make multiple copies of every ship, each one with each specialist seating.
It just sounds like a bloated mess for code to me.

This doesn't really seem like a viable idea. Not only does it probably break the entire business model of the game, it seems like a code nightmare as @rattler2 said. If the OP wants to swap out specific visuals with specific boff/console layouts, then they should ask for the ability to decouple visuals from boff/console layouts. Instead of the OP's idea, when you buy a ship, it comes as it already does but the visuals come as a skin represented by a visual slot item that can be used in a 4th visual slot that can be added into the game. Then you can buy your ship for 3000 zen and put the visual on other ship if you want.

Based on replies I have seen over the years, including recent ones from Baddmoon about how complicated ship design in this game actually is, I think Rattler and Az have hit it on the head. To have a ship with a "choice" of 3-4 different specialization seating would be a nightmare of coding as they would literally have to design 3-4 different ships, and that's if only one seat had a "choice". Every seating "option" would require the team to create another complete new ship. So, to give the players a ship with a single seat with 4 different specializations options would require them to actually design 4 new ships, if you want 2 seats to have 4 options, now they have to design 16 new ships.

Basically, for the amount of work required for them to make one "single" ship that has two seats, each with 4 specialization seating "options", they could create an entire new Mega ship bundle instead. Want to guess which one would likely sell better ?
    LTS and loving it.

Getting specialist seats might be difficult unless we get ships with a uni spec seat option, which if there was a limit of it only being on up to lt or ltcom seats it could work to keep interest in spec specific ships. Though I like the idea of getting a console that at the cost of using up on console, as well as only slotting one of these specific consoles, then the console grants the spec specific mechanic to the ship it is on (so like pilot maneuvers, morale abilities, and such).

something along those line that would be interesting would be mission pods for the Nebula and Luna classes, esp the Luna if they make a T6.
Pod one is tac orinted pod 2 eng pod 3 Sci
